The 10 most phenomenal NBA careers in Syracuse basketball history
By Sam Fariss
Louis Orr was drafted 29th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 1980 NBA Draft, relatively late for such a standout collegiate player. However, after playing four seasons with Syracuse, Orr was off to the NBA.
Orr played just eight seasons in the league but became a beloved star to the New York Knicks franchise. He played for the Knicks from 1982-88.
Over his eight years in the NBA, Orr saw four playoff berths and scored over 5,500 career points (nearly 700 points a season).
After his professional playing career came to an end, Orr went on to become a collegiate coach for three decades.
