Happy Sunday, my fellow Syracuse Orange fans!
Let's take a spin around some recent 'Cuse sports news. The 2024-25 season for Syracuse basketball is fast approaching, and the Atlantic Coast Conference will hold its annual ACC Tipoff from October 8 to October 10 in Charlotte, N.C.
On the women's side, representing the Orange are head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, senior forward Kyra Wood and senior guard Georgia Woolley, per a release from the ACC. On the men's side, the 'Cuse will be represented by head coach Adrian Autry, junior guard J.J. Starling and junior forward Chris Bell.
I'll be curious to see where both Syracuse basketball programs are slotted in the preseason projections of the ACC standings for the upcoming campaign.
Speaking of the Syracuse basketball women's team, the Orange will be competing at the 2024 Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla. The 'Cuse, in this preseason tournament, will face Missouri on Monday, Nov. 25, at 5 pm and then either Wichita State or Creighton on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 5 pm or 7:30 pm.
If you're interested in attending the Emerald Coast Classic, this media release from SU Athletics has more information on purchasing tickets. By the way, I've been to Destin before. It's a beautiful city in the Sunshine State.
