Syracuse football scores top 7 of 3-star athlete, but Florida State has analyst buzz
By Neil Adler
Max Redmon, a 2025 three-star athlete/safety from Florida, has named a top seven that includes Syracuse football.
In recent days, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Redmon said via his X page that his top seven consists of the Orange, Penn State, USF, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana and Louisville.
Redmon is a standout rising senior at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Fla.
As I've noted in several recent columns, 'Cuse head coach Fran Brown and his staff have continued to focus their recruiting efforts on the Northeast corridor, while also hitting numerous other states hard, such as Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia and Texas, among others.
In late January of this year, Redmon said on his X page that he picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff. Per recruiting services, he holds around 20 high-major offers from schools such as Florida State, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCF, USF and West Virginia, among others.
Syracuse football is in the top seven of talented 2025 three-star athlete Max Redmon.
While it's great that the 'Cuse is seemingly in the mix for Redmon, when I wrote this column, I saw at least two predictions in the direction of Florida State for Redmon between the 247Sports Web site and the On3 Web site.
At this juncture, Brown and his staff have secured at least 19 verbal commitments in their 2025 cycle, a class that hovers around the top 10 nationally, per multiple recruiting Web sites.
As I discussed in another column earlier this week, a bunch of Syracuse football three-star and four-star recruits in the 2025 cycle are scheduled to take official visits in the coming weeks to the 'Cuse, running through mid-June.
So it's certainly possible that the Orange coaching staff could pick up additional 2025 verbal pledges in the near future.
Additionally, looking further out at the 2026 cycle, the 'Cuse has at least three verbal commitments, and several recruiting services currently rank this Syracuse football class inside the top six nationwide.
Two of the Orange's three verbal commits in the 2026 cycle hail from Florida. They are four-star athlete/defensive back Demetres Samuel Jr. of Heritage High School in Palm Bay, Fla., and four-star linebacker/edge Izayia Williams of Tavares High School in Tavares, Fla.
I'll continue to track Redmon's recruiting process. I'd love to see the 'Cuse get him on the Hill in the future for a visit.
