In the coming weeks and months, we’re going to see a lot of talented 2025 high school prospects on the SU campus for visits to Syracuse football.

Numerous of these expected visitors to Central New York are rated either four stars or three stars in the junior cycle.

The Orange has one verbal commitment in the 2025 class so far. In late January, four-star edge and top-300 national prospect Sharlandiin Strange of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa., verbally pledged to the ‘Cuse over Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Southern California.

In recent weeks, the Orange coaching staff has doled out scholarship offers to a range of highly ranked 2025 prospects, while hosting targets on unofficial visits to the Hill last month for junior days and also making the list cuts of various 2025 recruits.

Let’s look at some upcoming visits by high school juniors to Syracuse football.

In recent days, 2025 edge/outside linebacker Chris Trumbull said on his X page that he will visit the ‘Cuse on March 23. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Trumbull attends the Red Lion Christian Academy in Bear, Del.

Not too long ago, SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister reported that 2025 three-star quarterback Luke Carney plans to visit the Orange in late March. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Carney is a standout at the Dallas Christian School in Mesquite, Texas.

Rivals.com national analyst Adam Friedman recently wrote that 2025 four-star athlete/wide receiver Jeff Exinor Jr., a top-200 overall player, plans to take an official visit to Syracuse football, although I haven’t seen anything about a date being finalized for the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect out of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md.

Vernell Brown III, a 2025 four-star wide receiver and return man who is also a top-250 national prospect, is mapping out a visit to the Orange, per 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Brown, a star at Jones High School in Orlando, Fla., recently disclosed a top 11 that includes the ‘Cuse.

A few days ago, elite 2025 prospect Jaelyne Matthews said that he would take an official visit to Syracuse football from May 31 to June 2.

The 6-foot-8, 330-pound Matthews, out of Toms River High School North in Toms River, N.J., is a four-star offensive tackle and a top-100 national prospect in the junior cycle.

TheKnightReport.Net on the Rivals.com network has indicated that 2025 three-star defensive back Byron Baldwin will visit the Orange on April 19. The 6-foot, 180-pound Baldwin competes for the Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md.

Rivals.com states that 2025 four-star running back and top-150 overall player John Forster plans to officially visit Syracuse football on June 7.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Forster goes to the Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, N.J.

Kentrell Rinehart, a 2025 three-star running back out of Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio, recently released a top five, and the Orange made the cut.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Rinehart, who made an unofficial visit to the Hill in late January, has said that he expects to officially visit all of his finalists.

CJ May, a 2025 four-star edge and a top-300 national prospect in this class, de-committed from Notre Dame in early February and reopened his recruitment.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound May, who attends Highland Home High School in Highland Home, Ala., holds a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse, which he picked up in January.

Earlier this month, Wiltfong had a post on his X page where he quoted May’s potential visit schedule this spring. May said, “I plan on going to Louisville, Texas A&M, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Vandy. There could be a few more to be added. Probably Syracuse again too.”

Stay tuned.
