Syracuse football is one of the finalists, at least for the time being, for 2025 four-star athlete/cornerback Jaboree Antoine from Louisiana.

On Christmas Day, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Antoine disclosed via his X page a top eight of Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, Michigan, Tennessee and LSU.

However, later that day, Antoine said that he had received a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse coaching staff, and in a separate post on X, Antoine said that his new top nine included Syracuse football.

Antoine is a standout junior at Westgate High School in New Iberia, La. Per his bio on the 247Sports Web site, Antoine holds more than 20 offers from a range of high-major programs.

Syracuse football is in the top nine of 2025 four-star athlete/CB Jaboree Antoine.

Antoine’s top nine, to me, illustrates the recruiting prowess of Orange head coach Fran Brown and his staff. The ‘Cuse offered Antoine and then immediately thereafter, made his list cut.

This doesn’t mean that Syracuse football will end up landing Antoine, but it is encouraging that the Orange is in the running for this elite prospect.

Two of his other finalists are Georgia and Texas A&M. Brown, before replacing Dino Babers as the head coach of Syracuse football, most recently served as the defensive backs coach at Georgia.

The Orange’s new defensive coordinator will be Elijah Robinson, who is currently the interim head coach and co-defensive coordinator at Texas A&M.

Antoine also said on December 25 via his X account that he secured a scholarship offer from Ole Miss.

Other college squads that have offered him include Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Louisville, Michigan State, Missouri and Oklahoma, among others.

In 2025 rankings, On3 is currently most bullish on Antoine, placing him at No. 19 overall, No. 3 at cornerback and No. 2 in Louisiana.

When I wrote this article, the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking had Antoine at No. 44 nationwide, No. 7 at cornerback and No. 2 in Louisiana.

Over the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Antoine checked in at No. 51 nationally, No. 8 at cornerback and No. 2 in Louisiana.

In other recruiting news related to the ‘Cuse and the 2025 cycle, four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley announced his top five on social media in recent days, and Syracuse football made the cut, along with Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Michigan.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Utley, a junior at The Ensworth School in Nashville, Tenn., is ranked by On3 at No. 43 overall, No. 7 at defensive lineman and No. 2 in Tennessee.
