Four-star junior Malik Washington, a consensus top-20 quarterback in the 2025 class who helped lead his high school team to a state title in Maryland, will soon disclose his half-dozen finalists, and he holds a Syracuse football offer.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Washington, a standout at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., who has received a ton of honors for his stellar 2023 season, said via his X page that he plans to release his top six on January 4.

A top-300 national prospect and a top-10 player coming out of Maryland, Washington was initially offered a scholarship from the ‘Cuse in late September, when Dino Babers was the team’s head coach.

On December 4, Georgia defensive backs coach Fran Brown was named the new head coach of the Orange, replacing Babers. Washington said on his X page that he had been re-offered by the Syracuse football coaching staff on December 12.

Four-star junior QB Malik Washington is about to trim his list and holds a Syracuse football offer.

In the recently completed 2023 term, Washington was a key contributor as Archbishop Spalding captured the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (“MIAA”) A Conference championship.

According to social media posts, he has received numerous accolades and awards. Among them, Washington was named to The Washington Post’s All-Met first-team offense, he was the 2023 MIAA-A All-Conference player of the year, he was The Baltimore Sun’s All-Metro offensive player of the year, and Washington was on the All-State first team and named player of the year by the Maryland Football Foundation in the private schools Division I category.

Not long after he was re-offered by the new ‘Cuse coaching staff, Washington chatted with recruiting analyst Charles Kang of The Juice Online.

Washington said in part regarding the Orange offer, “It felt great. I’m interested to get to know the new staff and build those relationships.”

As I mentioned before, Washington is highly ranked on a national scale by several recruiting Web sites. At the time of this writing, On3 was the most bullish on him, placing Washington at No. 186 around the country in the 2025 cycle.
