Syracuse football is among the schools pushing hard for 2025 four-star edge CJ May, who will officially visit the Orange in mid-June.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound May, a former Notre Dame verbal pledge, has unofficially visited the 'Cuse in the past.

Now the top-150 national prospect says via his X page that he will take an official visit to Syracuse football from June 14 to June 16, which is the same weekend that several other Orange 2025 four-star recruits are planning to officially visit the program.

A recent post on X from On3 Recruits noted that a handful of suitors are pushing for May, including the 'Cuse, Auburn, Louisville and Ole Miss.

Syracuse football appears to be a big contender for 2025 four-star edge CJ May.

Orange head coach Fran Brown and his staff offered a scholarship to May on January 21 of this year, he said on social media. Throughout his recruitment, he has received more than 20 offers, according to 247Sports.

May verbally committed to the Fighting Irish last September but then de-committed and reopened his recruitment in early February of 2024, according to recruiting services.

May attends Highland Home High School in Highland Home, Ala. As a junior during the 2023 season, according to MaxPreps, he produced 27 solo tackles, 54 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, six passes defended and two fumble recoveries.

In various interviews, May has spoken highly of the Syracuse football staff, including Brown, defensive ends coach Nick Williams and others.

When I wrote this article on Monday, 247Sports within the 2025 cycle placed May at No. 138 nationally, No. 16 at edge and No. 12 in Alabama.

Both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking have May in the top 300 overall and in the top 30 at edge within his class.

Lately, per social media, numerous 2025 four-star and high three-star prospects have disclosed their plans to officially visit the Hill throughout the month of June, which I've noted in a couple of different pieces.

To that end, 2025 three-star offensive tackle Jaden Wilkerson says on his X page that he will take an official visit to the Orange from June 7 to June 9. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound Wilkerson, out of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla., was offered by Syracuse football coaches on February 15 of this year.

On Monday, the 'Cuse had at least 18 verbal commitments in its 2025 class, a cycle that was ranked No. 9 around the country per the 247Sports Composite.
