Syracuse Football: 2025 3-star commit Antoine Deslauriers on 247Sports 'Freaks' List
The Syracuse football 2025 recruiting class is a much-needed improvement over years past. While the lack of a four-star commit is disappointing, the class is still loaded with talent.
One of the top players in the Orange's 2025 class is three-star linebacker Antoine Deslauriers, who previously blew up on social media for his outstanding physique. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Deslauriers is a standout at the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap, Ga.
Deslauriers has put himself back in the national spotlight after being featured this week on the 247Sports Freaks List for the class of 2025. Coincidentally, he was the 44th player of 50 listed by Andrew Ivins, the director of scouting for 247Sports.
Syracuse football commit Antoine Deslauriers is deemed by an expert as a "Freak" athlete.
Per social media posts and his X page, Deslauriers has done 21 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds and has a self-reported 39" vertical jump. He has also run the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds.
The Montreal native verbally committed to Syracuse football on April 26 of this year over offers from Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others. On his X page, Deslauriers says that he has received 22 scholarship offers.
In his junior season, per his bio on the 247Sports Web site, Deslauriers recorded 72 tackles (18 for loss), two sacks, three pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two touchdowns. He is the only linebacker, and one of two Georgia recruits, committed in the Syracuse football class of 2025.
The Orange's 2025 cycle, which includes 28 verbal commitments, is currently ranked No. 38 overall by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Deslauriers, per the composite ratings, is No. 854 nationally, No. 86 at linebacker and No. 95 in Georgia within his class.
In early June, Deslauriers took an official visit to Syracuse football. A photo from that visit, showing off his strong physique, went viral. Around that time, Deslauriers said in part to 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister, "I always been told I have kind of a special physique. I've always stood out a little bit. I never thought it was like that much of a big thing, but seeing all these big people reacting to it and all these big accounts making a big thing out of it, I think it's special. I think it tells me I'm doing something right and I'm on the right track to making an impact on college football."
For the second year in a row, a Syracuse commit has made the annual Freaks List from 247Sports. Last August, when featuring the 2024 class, four-star tight end Jamie Tremble was placed at No. 45 overall by Ivins.
