Syracuse Basketball: Orange misses out on another key 2025 4-star recruiting target

London Jemison, a fast-rising 2025 four-star wing/forward from Connecticut, is no longer considering Syracuse basketball.

The 6-foot-7 Jemison, according to media reports from top scout Derek Murray and others, has trimmed his list of contenders to three schools. They are Louisville, Alabama and Kansas.

Jemison, a top-40 national prospect in the high school senior class, previously had a top six that also included Syracuse basketball, Vanderbilt and Virginia. While I'm bummed that Jemison has removed the Orange from contention in his recruitment, I'm wishing London all the best.

Murray, in his post on X, noted that Jemison is looking to make his college decision known "soon."

Syracuse basketball is out of the running for 2025 four-star prospect London Jemison.

This spring and summer, Jemison earned high praise from national analysts and scouts for his AAU performances for the 17U team of the Boston-based Expressions Elite in Nike's EYBL league.

A senior at the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., he landed a scholarship offer from the Orange staff in late September of last year. In late December of 2023, Jemison took an official visit to the Hill, and that was his first official visit to a college campus.

More recently, he went on official visits to the schools in his final three.

The Syracuse basketball staff, in addition to hosting Jemison on an official visit late last year, was in attendance for him amid an NCAA live period in late May on the EYBL circuit and in other AAU leagues.

Since the start of the fall recruiting period earlier this month, per X posts from Murray, the Orange staff did check out Jemison at least twice during open gyms at his high school.

Over the weekend, 2025 four-star guard and top-30 national prospect Acaden Lewis from Washington, D.C., unveiled a top four of UConn, Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina. The 6-foot-3 Lewis had the 'Cuse in his prior top eight and had taken an unofficial visit to the program on August 1.

Derek Dixon, a 2025 four-star guard and a top-50 national prospect from D.C., has the Orange in his top six and plans to announce his college choice on September 27. Based on analysts I've talked to in recent days, Syracuse basketball is not expected to win out in Dixon's recruitment.

The Orange, in late May, received a verbal pledge from 2025 five-star forward and top-15 overall player Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C.

The 'Cuse coaching staff, as far as I can tell, remains in pursuit of numerous other 2025 four-star prospects, such as shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, point guard Tyler Jackson from Baltimore, point guard Keyshuan Tillery from Albany, N.Y., wing/forward Shon Abaev from Florida, wing Ryder Frost from Massachusetts and big man Asher Elson from New York City.
