Jerry Easter II, a 2025 four-star point guard and a top-25 national prospect in his class, is a prospect to monitor as it pertains to a possible official visit to Syracuse basketball in the near future.
The 6-foot-4 point guard, who is having a tremendous junior season in the 2023-24 campaign for the powerhouse La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., recently told writer Connor Pignatello that he wants to visit the ‘Cuse soon.
I confirmed with a source of my own that Easter is interested in taking an official visit to Syracuse basketball, and it wouldn’t surprise me if that occurs in the near future. No date for a trip to the Hill has been finalized yet. Stay tuned.

The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to Easter in July of 2022. It was one of the first offers doled out by the ‘Cuse in the 2025 cycle.
Four-star junior point guard Jerry Easter II wants to visit Syracuse basketball.
Easter is an elite prospect in the junior class. All of the primary recruiting services rate him as a top-50 national prospect, with several recruiting Web sites placing him in the top 25 nationally and in the top five at point guard.
Based on his play in the most recent AAU season, and his performances to date in 2023-24 for La Lumiere, I adamantly contend that Easter is going to attain five-star status at some point.
According to 247Sports, he holds nearly 40 scholarship offers from a range of high-major programs.
Easter has several nice connections to the Syracuse basketball program. His dad is dear friends with Orange legend Derrick Coleman, and Easter is also good friends with 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, who is a priority recruit of the ‘Cuse coaching staff and officially visited Syracuse basketball last October.
Easter earned All-America honors from MaxPreps as both a freshman and a sophomore while starring for the Emmanuel Christian School in Toledo, Ohio.
For his junior year, he transferred to La Lumiere, where Orange sophomore guard J.J. Starling also played a couple of years ago. La Lumiere is one of 14 teams in the country’s top high school conference, the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic (“EYBL Scholastic”).
A recent post on X from the account League Ready indicated that Easter was among the leading scorers at that time within the EYBL Scholastic.

Not too long ago, Easter was one of numerous Syracuse basketball targets who suited up in the prestigious Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., where some of the premier high school groups went toe to toe.
Easter was stellar at this prestigious annual showcase. According to a press release from the event’s organizers, Easter was named to the All-Showcase first team, which is a wonderful honor.

In the last grassroots basketball season, Easter earned high marks from national analysts and scouts while playing up a division for the 17U team of the Columbus, Ohio-based All Ohio Red in Nike’s EYBL league.
In a recent chat with Rivals.com national analyst Rob Cassidy, Easter mentioned that he’s planning to visit Oregon and may take a trip to Baylor as well.
In the past, Easter has unofficially visited Michigan State and Ohio State. He told Cassidy that, these days, he’s in frequent contact with teams such as Baylor, Oregon, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State and Arkansas.
I’ll absolutely monitor if and when Easter locks in a date to officially visit Syracuse basketball.
