Kiyan Anthony, the Syracuse basketball priority target in the 2025 class, is absolutely on fire in the early part of the AAU season this spring and summer.
The 6-foot-5 Anthony, a four-star shooting guard and a top-30 national prospect in his cycle per On3, caught the attention of many analysts and scouts for his performances this past weekend on the AAU circuit.
The New York City native is a standout with the 17U squad of the Baltimore-based Team Melo in Nike’s EYBL league. So far this spring, the EYBL has conducted two sessions, one in late April in Memphis, Tenn., and the second this past weekend in the Atlanta area.
Last weekend, Anthony went off. He proved one of the top scorers on the EYBL circuit during the most recent session in Atlanta, averaging 21.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
For his efforts, Anthony was named by The Circuit to its All-EYBL Session II second unit.
Syracuse basketball 2025 four-star recruit Kiyan Anthony is tearing up AAU.
To date, Team Melo is 2-4 overall between the first two EYBL sessions. Collectively, Anthony is averaging 19.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per encounter. In the EYBL 17U division, he's No. 15 in points per game and No. 23 in rebounds per contest.
Based on his play this past weekend, 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London said Anthony is "a prospect who continues to elevate his game and is off to a strong start to the AAU season with Team Melo. Anthony posted a game high 24 points that kept Melo within striking distance. The 6-foot-5 junior got to the free throw line, shot the ball well from deep and created his own offense throughout the matchup."
Anthony, the son of Orange legend and long-time NBA star Carmelo Anthony, picked up a 'Cuse scholarship offer in November of 2022 and took an official visit to Syracuse basketball in late October of last year. He holds nearly 20 offers in total and has also officially visited fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Florida State.
As a junior during the recently completed 2023-24 season, Kiyan Anthony was a key contributor off the bench for Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., which ended this past term ranked in the top five nationally by multiple media outlets and competes in arguably the country's top high school basketball conference, the 14-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic (“EYBL Scholastic”).
London is among numerous national analysts and scouts who have said lately that Anthony keeps evolving and expanding his all-around game. Jamie Shaw, a top national analyst and scout with On3, also recently shared some insights on Anthony in a podcast interview with Jackson Holzer, who hosts Locked On Syracuse.
Within the 2025 class, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking place Anthony in the top 40 overall. On3 has him at No. 29 nationwide, No. 7 at shooting guard and No. 1 in New York.
