Last summer, Syracuse basketball 2024 commit Donnie Freeman, a five-star power forward from Washington, D.C., won the coveted Peach Jam title in the 17U division on Nike's EYBL circuit.
This coming July, a 'Cuse five-star verbal commit and numerous four-star and five-star recruiting targets will have that same opportunity.
Sam Lance, a top high school hoops writer, first broke the news of the 2024 Peach Jam field via a recent article on zagsblog.com, and squads that have received invites include a variety of Syracuse basketball recruiting ties.
This year's Peach Jam tournament will feature 24 teams that will go toe to toe from July 13 to July 21 in North Augusta, S.C., in the EYBL 17U division. Lance reports that Nike "will officially release the field in the coming weeks."
Let's review which Syracuse basketball targets will compete in July's Peach Jam.
The Peach Jam field, according to Lance, will include four pools that each have six participants.
Here are the groups with Orange recruiting connections, and the pool where they reside:
Pool A: Nightrydas Elite and City Rocks
Pool B: Team Takeover
Pool C: None
Pool D: Expressions Elite and Team United
Now, a quick note of context. The teams noted above feature rosters with prospects on them that hold Syracuse basketball scholarship offers and appear to be key recruits for the 'Cuse. It's entirely possible that the Orange staff is pursuing players, or could in the future, on other Peach Jam squads for which I'm not currently aware.
Nightrydas Elite, based in Miami, 14-1 record to date
A key player for this elite AAU program is 2025 four-star shooting guard Dante Allen, who picked up a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse in late April of this year.
City Rocks, based in Albany, N.Y., 11-4 record to date
Two prospects on this squad hold Orange offers, and they are 2026 four-star wing Imahri Wooten and 2025 four-star point guard Keyshuan Tillery. Both have unofficially visited Syracuse basketball.
Team Takeover, based in Washington, D.C., 14-1 record to date
Two stars for Team Takeover are 2026 five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr. and 2025 four-star combo guard Derek Dixon. Both have 'Cuse offers. Smith was scheduled to unofficially visit the Hill on June 7, while Dixon took an official visit to the Orange in late September of last year.
Expressions Elite, based in Boston, 9-6 record to date
This spring, Expressions member London Jemison has played at an ultra-high level. The 2025 four-star wing/small forward, offered by SU last September, went on an official visit to the program in late December of 2023.
Team United, based in Charlotte, N.C., 7-8 record to date
A standout for this unit is 2025 five-star forward Sadiq White Jr., who last week verbally committed to Syracuse basketball over six other finalists and has unofficially visited the 'Cuse twice.
