Recruiting service and media outlet 247Sports updated its national rankings for the 2026 class in recent days, and Syracuse basketball four-star target Abdou Toure boasted one of the largest jumps around the country.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard/small forward, in this refresh from 247Sports, moved from No. 92 overall to No. 31 nationally in his class, per 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham. That's quite a climb for the fast-rising Toure.

Besides arriving as the No. 31 national prospect in the 2026 cycle, 247Sports has Toure as the No. 11 small forward and the No. 1 player from Connecticut.

The talented wing picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff in late July
of this year. His full offer sheet is approaching 15, and I expect that Toure will command many more suitors as his recruiting process carries onward.

Syracuse basketball four-star target Abdou Toure is a stock-rising prospect in the 2026 class.

According to recruiting services and his X page, Toure's offer list also includes schools such as Pittsburgh, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Louisville, Penn State, Oregon, Alabama, UCF, Arizona State, Providence, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Yale and Bryant.

This spring and summer on the AAU circuit, Toure earned high praise from national analysts and scouts as he shined for the 16U team of the Boston-based Expressions Elite in Nike's EYBL league. About a month ago, he was also one of the standouts at the Under Armour Next Elite 24, a showcase held in Brooklyn, N.Y., that aired on ESPNU.

Toure, heading into the 2024-25 campaign, is a junior at Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn. As a sophomore in 2023-24, Toure helped guide Notre Dame to a 28-0 record and a Division I state championship in Connecticut.

MaxPreps national basketball editor Jordan Divens, last season, named Toure his player of the year in Connecticut after he tallied averages of 21.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per encounter.

Branham, in his article this week, wrote in part about Toure, "He's a strong and mature wing with high-level athleticism that plays with tremendous confidence and a high motor. Toure isย hyper-aggressive on the offensive end. He is a strong and athletic slasher who can also rise up and hit jumpers from mid-range. ... With improvements in his long-range shooting and his decision-making on both the offensive and defensive end, Toure could make another jump in the rankings."
