Syracuse basketball 4-star recruit from powerhouse Montverde Academy discloses top 4
By Neil Adler
Dante Allen, the Syracuse basketball recruiting target fresh off winning an AAU championship last month, has named his four finalists, according to media reports.
The Orange, unfortunately, didn't make the cut for the 6-foot-4 shooting guard.
The four-star Allen, a top-80 national prospect in the 2025 class, has a final four of Villanova, Notre Dame, Georgia and Tennessee, per an article from top writer Sam Lance on zagsblog.com.
While I'm bummed that the 'Cuse is no longer in contention for Allen, I'm wishing him all the best throughout the remainder of his recruiting process!
Syracuse basketball isn't in the top four of 2025 four-star shooting guard Dante Allen.
The Orange staff offered a scholarship to Allen in late April of this year. Not too long after that, I came across several reports indicating that the 'Cuse was among the college squads in regular communication with him, and I was hopeful that Allen might ultimately take a visit to Syracuse basketball.
Last month, in North Augusta, S.C., Allen was a key contributor as the Miami-based Nightrydas Elite won the Peach Jam title on Nike’s EYBL circuit in the 17U division. National analysts and scouts praised him for his performances both at Peach Jam and during the EYBL's regular season this past spring.
In his junior season, Allen averaged 21.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 3.0 assists per encounter in guiding the Riviera Preparatory School in Miami to its second consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association ("FHSAA") Class 3A state tournament championship.
As a senior in the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, Allen will suit up for the powerhouse Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla., which went undefeated this past term and won the high school national championship.
While Syracuse basketball is out of the mix for Allen, Orange coaches are heavily involved with various other four-star and five-star prospects in the 2025 class. Plus, in late May, five-star forward Sadiq White Jr. verbally pledged to the 'Cuse, giving the program its first 2025 commit.
On Thursday night, I went in-depth on numerous Syracuse basketball targets in the rising senior cycle. Lately, there has proven a lot of activity regarding the Orange's recruiting efforts in the 2025 class.
This includes some four-star targets taking recent visits to the Hill or setting upcoming trips to the 'Cuse. What's more, Syracuse basketball recently has made the small group of finalists for several four-star recruits in the 2025 cycle, including Kiyan Anthony, the son of Orange legend Carmelo Anthony.
