One of the hottest prospects around the country so far in the early stages of the AAU season is 2025 four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis, who picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball in late April and continues to see his offer sheet expand.

The fast-rising Lewis, a 6-foot-3 point guard/shooting guard and one of the top high school juniors in the talent-rich Washington, D.C., market, is highly interested in visiting 'Cuse in the near future, I've been told.

But he has many other suitors pursuing him, including some newer ones. Per his X page, two of Lewis' more recent offers are from Big Ten Conference member Michigan and Big 12 Conference school West Virginia.

In total, according to 247Sports, Lewis has seen his offer list grow to nearly two-dozen college squads. While the Orange only offered him a couple of weeks ago, it appears that Lewis is emerging as a priority recruit for the team in the 2025 cycle.

Syracuse basketball faces intense, expanding competition for 2025 four-star guard Acaden Lewis.

In a recent post on X from recruiting analyst Jake Lieberman, Lewis says that teams in frequent communication with him include the 'Cuse, Georgetown, Maryland and fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia.

Undeniably, the Hoyas, the Terrapins and even the Cavaliers have strong footholds in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, given their geographic locations. At the same time, multiple Syracuse basketball coaches, including newly hired assistant Dan Engelstad, have deep recruiting ties to the DMV.

Lewis' offer sheet also includes schools such as Maryland, Virginia Tech, Villanova, Florida State, Georgetown, Virginia, Brown, Bryant, George Mason, George Washington, Georgia, Howard, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Providence, St. John's, Vanderbilt, Norfolk State and UMBC.

He has officially visited both UVA and Florida State, while Lewis has gone on unofficial visits to Georgetown and Virginia Tech. I do think that, in the coming months, Syracuse basketball will score a visit from Lewis as well.

In the recently completed 2023-24 high school season, Lewis helped guide the Sidwell Friends School in D.C. to a 27-4 mark as the Quakers won the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference ("MAC") title and the District of Columbia State Athletic Association ("DCSAA") Class AA tournament championship.

As a junior, Lewis averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. A few days ago, the Web site DMVelite named him its 2023-24 player of the year in our nation's capital. That's on top of numerous other local, regional and national honors that Lewis has earned for his brilliant 2023-24 campaign.

Ranked in the top 100 nationally and in the top 15 at guard by virtually all of the primary recruiting services, Lewis has caught the attention of numerous national analysts and scouts so far this spring while playing for the 17U squad of the Oxon Hill, Md.-based Team Durant in Nike’s EYBL league.

The EYBL has held two sessions to date, first in Memphis, Tenn., and then in the Atlanta area. Collectively, Lewis is averaging 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

For those efforts, the experts at The Circuit placed Lewis on their All-EYBL Session I second team and then their All-EYBL Session II third team.
