Syracuse basketball targets are highly placed in the initial 2027 national rankings from recruiting service and media outlet On3.

As other recruiting services have done of late, On3 this week published its inaugural ratings for the 2027 cycle. On3 has listed the top-50 national prospects in the high school sophomore class.

It's super early for the Orange staff and its peers around the country as it pertains to 2027 recruiting efforts. Part of this is due to college coaches not being able to initiate direct communication with prospects in this cycle until June 15 of next year.

Still, I'm aware of at least two 2027 prospects who have received scholarship offers from the 'Cuse staff. Syracuse basketball coaches are showing an interest in other high school sophomores, some of whom competed in the Orange's annual Elite Camp held late last month on the Hill.

Syracuse basketball 2027 targets are highly ranked in new national ratings from On3.

Baba Oladotun
On3 rankings: No. 6 nationally, No. 4 at small forward and No. 1 in Maryland
The 6-foot-9 small forward/power forward, an elite DMV product, attends James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Md. Oladotun, in late June, picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange. His full offer sheet also includes schools such as Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Texas, Indiana, Maryland, Florida State, LSU, Hawaii, Cincinnati, Butler, Michigan, Rutgers, Southern California, UCLA, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisville, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Howard and Bryant. ESPN currently ranks him as five stars and No. 1 overall in the 2027 class, while initial ratings from Rivals.com place Oladotun as five stars and No. 3 around the country.

Moussa Kamissoko
On3 rankings: No. 9 overall, No. 5 at small forward and No. 1 in New York
The 6-foot-8 wing was one of numerous prospects across various classes to suit up in the Orange's recent Elite Camp. I'm not aware of Syracuse basketball having offered Kamissoko at this juncture, but it wouldn't surprise me if he lands a 'Cuse scholarship offer in the future. Kamissoko goes to Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y. According to recruiting services, his early offer sheet includes teams like Fordham, Marist, NJIT, Rhode Island, Sacred Heart and Youngstown State. Both ESPN and Rivals.com rank Kamissoko as four stars and in the top 20 of the 2027 cycle.

Zion Green
On3 rankings: No. 12 overall, No. 7 at small forward and No. 1 in Pennsylvania
The 6-foot-8 power forward is a standout with the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia. Similar to Oladotun, Green was offered by Syracuse basketball in late June. Green's offer list, to date, also includes Penn State and UTEP. When Rivals.com published its initial top 60 of the 2027 class not too long ago, Green was rated as four stars and No. 20 overall.

Jacob Canton
On3 rankings: No. 66 overall, No. 4 at combo guard and No. 2 in New Jersey
The 6-foot-3 Canton also participated in the recent 'Cuse Elite Camp. He didn't make the inaugural top 50 from On3 for the 2027 class, although this recruiting service has him as three stars and inside the top 70. Canton, who plays at the Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, N.J., holds early offers from West Virginia, Radford and Seton Hall, per recruiting Web sites. Rivals.com does have Canton as four stars and No. 34 overall in its initial national rankings for this cycle.
