One of the top offensive tackles who was available in the transfer portal has pledged to Syracuse football, according to multiple media reports on Tuesday.

Kam Pringle, a rising redshirt freshman at Southeastern Conference member South Carolina who entered the portal during the recent spring transfer portal window, will head to the Hill. A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Kam!

The 6-foot-8, 336-pound Pringle, per several reports, had recently been on a visit to the 'Cuse. He's rated a three-star transfer prospect and was in the top 50 nationally as a prep recruit, according to ESPN.

Syracuse football coaches have appeared intent on bolstering their offensive line ahead of the 2025 campaign. The team's offensive line, much like many of its peers around the country, will look much different from a term ago, based on players returning, exhausting their eligibility, transferring out or coming in as a transfer or a high school commit.

At least two other college transfers who have pledged to the Orange over the off-season play on the offensive line. They are three-star Austin Collins from Louisville and three-star Naquil Betrand from Alabama.

Syracuse football is beefing up its offensive line for 2025.

In national transfer rankings from 247Sports, Pringle checks in as three stars, No. 217 overall and No. 25 at offensive tackle. Over at On3, he's three stars, No. 221 nationally and No. 23 at offensive tackle.

As a prep prospect, Pringle was a standout at Woodland High School in Dorchester, S.C. In the 2024 class, ESPN had him as four stars, No. 49 overall, No. 3 at offensive tackle and No. 1 in South Carolina.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he arrived as four stars, No. 180 nationwide, No. 15 at offensive tackle and No. 3 in South Carolina.

While in high school, per his bio on the South Carolina athletics department Web site, Pringle was named the Class 2A Lower State defensive lineman of the year by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association.

During the spring portal season, the Orange staff has landed at least five commitments from college transfers. They are Pringle, Collins, three-star defensive lineman George Rooks from Boston College, three-star quarterback Steve Angeli from Notre Dame and three-star linebacker Gary Bryant III from South Dakota.

Syracuse football coaches continue to pursue various other college transfers. For one, as I recently noted, the Orange has sizable analyst buzz for Washington sophomore wide receiver Johntay Cook II, a three-star transfer prospect who also has visited the 'Cuse of late.
