The Lally Foundation has a new program that aims to support student-led organizations at Syracuse University that are making an impact in the greater community.
The program, per a release from SU Athletics, is called "Leadership On and Off Campus." According to cuse.com, at every Syracuse football home game in the 2025 season, the foundation will award $5,000 to one student organization to recognize its philanthropic efforts.
That's beautiful. Much respect to the Lally Foundation, which is fully self-funded by John and Laura Lally. John Lally graduated from SU in 1982 and played offensive guard at Syracuse football from 1977 to 1981.
The money that the foundation is awarding will help these student groups further their charitable efforts in the larger Syracuse and Central New York regions. If you're interested in this program, you can reach out to the Lally Foundation via its X page.
The Lally Foundation is doing an amazing deed at Syracuse football home games.
The foundation's leadership program made its debut last weekend, with the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority the first recipient. The sorority was recognized for its support of the Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse. Following the sorority's recent fundraiser, called "AEPHestival," the Lally Foundation made an additional $5,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club.
Congratulations to our 1st Lally Leadership program winners Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority🍊

In its announcement, the foundation said of Alpha Epsilon Phi, "Congratulations and thank you for being leaders in supporting programs that provide opportunities and resources for children and teens in Syracuse."
"Leadership On and Off Campus" continues throughout the current campaign. Syracuse football next plays at home on Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Orange will host fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Pittsburgh at the JMA Wireless Dome.
The 'Cuse (3-2 overall, 1-1 in the ACC) heads to Dallas this Saturday afternoon to play SMU in the second-ever meeting between the Orange and the Mustangs. Syracuse football is a massive betting underdog at SMU.
In 2019, John and Laura Lally made a $25 million donation to Syracuse University, one of the largest in its history, to help jumpstart significant developments in SU Athletics, including the establishment of the John A. Lally Athletics Complex.
The complex has been undergoing a multi-year transformation. In the spring of this year, the complex's new football operations center opened.
