Syracuse basketball will honor its seniors on Saturday afternoon as the Orange hosts long-time foe Pittsburgh in the 2025-26 regular-season finale at the JMA Wireless Dome.
It's been a disappointing campaign for the 'Cuse and the Panthers. Both of their head coaches, Syracuse basketball's Adrian Autry and Pittsburgh's Jeff Capel, are on the hot seat and could lose their jobs after the 2025-26 term concludes.
SU enters this Atlantic Coast Conference clash in a rut, having dropped four straight. The Orange (15-15 overall, 6-11 in ACC) has qualified for next week's ACC Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. (only the top 15 of the league's 18 members in basketball will make it to Charlotte). The Panthers (11-19 overall, 4-13 in ACC), meanwhile, are fighting for their ACC Tournament lives.
How to watch Pittsburgh at Syracuse basketball on Saturday at the Dome.
The Panthers and the Orange are scheduled to tip off at 4:30 pm EST on Saturday, March 7, with television coverage on The CW Network. In January of this year, Syracuse basketball defeated Pittsburgh on the road, 83-72, with the 'Cuse improving to 77-52 in its all-time series with Pitt.
At the time of this writing, the Orange had an NCAA NET ranking of No. 80, as compared to No. 109 for Pittsburgh, making this a quadrant-three game for SU. Over at KenPom, Syracuse basketball is No. 80 overall, and the Panthers are No. 103.
In 2025-26, Pitt is scoring 70.1 points per game and allowing 71.3 points. The Panthers average 34.5 rebounds, 13.5 assists, 6.6 steals, 3.1 blocks and 11.3 turnovers per contest while making 43.6 percent from the field, 67.1 percent from the free-throw line and 33.7 percent from beyond the arc.
For the Orange, the team scores 75.4 points per encounter and gives up 74.0 points. The 'Cuse averages 34.2 rebounds, 12.8 assists, 6.3 steals, 6.0 blocks and 11.1 turnovers per game while connecting on 46.8 percent from the field, 64.1 percent from the charity stripe and 33.3 percent from downtown.
THREAD: When Syracuse basketball hosts Pitt on Saturday at the Dome in the regular-season finale, participating in SU's senior day will be senior guard J.J. Starling, senior center William Kyle III, redshirt senior SF Nate Kingz & grad student guard Bryce Zephir, I'm told. 🔽

On Saturday, senior guard J.J. Starling, senior center William Kyle III, redshirt senior small forward Nate Kingz and graduate student guard Bryce Zephir will participate in SU's senior-day festivities. This could also be the final time that Autry leads the Orange on the squad's home court. For those reasons, I hope that Syracuse basketball can notch a win over the Panthers on the Hill.
