Syracuse basketball's front-court for the upcoming 2026-27 season received a boost on Wednesday as Siena junior Tasman Goodrick said via his Instagram page that he's transferring to the 'Cuse.
A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Tasman! The 6-foot-10, 230-pound Goodrick, a power forward/center who hails from Sydney, Australia, only appeared in nine games during the 2025-26 stanza due to injury, but he was Siena's starting center for those nine contests.
As a junior for the Saints, Goodrick averaged 23.3 minutes, 9.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per encounter while connecting on 64.5 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Goodrick's head coach at Siena, Gerry McNamara, now holds the same position at the Orange, replacing Adrian Autry. McNamara has brought over two Siena transfers to Syracuse basketball in Goodrick and sophomore guard Gavin Doty, along with two Saints' assistant coaches in Arinze Onuaku and Ben Lee.
Gerry McNamara continues to fill out his Syracuse basketball 2026-27 roster.
Before heading to Siena, Goodrick played at California Baptist and Gannon, a Division II program. While at Gannon, Goodrick won a bunch of awards for his play. Per his bio on the Siena athletics department Web site, between California Baptist and Gannon, he appeared in 42 games while averaging 12.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest.
My sense is that Goodrick will be a reserve for McNamara, rather than a starter. The Orange has plenty of scholarships available for 2026-27 and needs to find both a starting point guard and a starting center, among other positions.
Of SU's 13 primary scholarship players in 2025-26, three are out of eligibility, at least seven have entered the transfer portal, which opened on Tuesday, and we're awaiting decisions on two other guys.
They are freshman guard/wing Kiyan Anthony and redshirt senior small forward Nate Kingz, who would need to secure a waiver from the NCAA to play another season of Division I hoops.
Syracuse basketball's social media channels announced on Wednesday afternoon that freshman big man Sadiq White Jr. will return to the team for the 2026-27 season, which is huge for the Orange.
