Syracuse football will play fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Wake Forest in Canada roughly a year from now, and the game is being branded as the Toronto Kickoff.
Shout out to Brad Humber, an associate producer at Canadian sports media company Sportsnet, who brought this to the attention of Inside the Loud House and other reporters in recent days. Here is the X account for the Toronto Kickoff.
Haven't seen this posted by any Cuse beat reporters yet, but we have an official date for @CuseFootball vs Wake Forest next year in Toronto at @BMOField

In early May, SU Athletics initially announced the affair between Syracuse and the Demon Deacons. The contest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2027, at BMO Field in Toronto, which is the home of Toronto FC in Major League Soccer and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Earlier this summer, BMO Field also hosted matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
It appears that tickets have gone on sale, and the capacity at BMO Field for this conference clash between Syracuse football and Wake Forest is 26,050. The Demon Deacons will serve as the home team. The kick-off time has not been disclosed, although this Week 0 game at the onset of the 2027 season will air on either ESPN or ABC, officials have said.
Syracuse football is headed north to Canada to kick off its 2027 campaign.
Organizers say that the contest between the 'Cuse and Wake Forest will be the first NCAA college football game played at BMO Field. SU and the Demon Deacons don't play each other in the upcoming 2026 season, which begins on Saturday, Sept. 5, for the Orange at home against New Hampshire.
"We are thrilled to bring ACC football to an international stage in Toronto," ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said when the encounter was first announced. "This conference game represents an exciting opportunity to showcase our student-athletes and our member institutions, as well as put on full display the energy of college football to a new and diverse audience."
Per SU Athletics, Syracuse football is 7-6 against Wake Forest in their all-time series together. The last time they played, the Orange squeaked by the Demon Deacons, 35-31, in November 2023 at the JMW Wireless Dome.
Starting with the 2026 season, ACC teams are playing nine league games and three non-conference contests. In 2027, SU's three non-conference foes are expected to be at Penn State, at Connecticut and, reportedly, against Fordham at home.
