Former Syracuse basketball star guard Eric Devendorf, one of the most accomplished players in the history of The Basketball Tournament ("TBT"), will be unavailable for the remainder of the annual summer event after he suffered a knee injury in Boeheim's Army's most recent game, according to media reports.
The 6-foot-3 Devendorf, who was a key contributor when Boeheim's Army won the TBT in 2021, sustained the injury this past Thursday night in Syracuse, when the squad defeated a Seton Hall alumni team, Hall In, by a final score of 81-76 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2026 TBT, where the winner-take-all grand prize is $2 million.
Next up, Boeheim's Army will travel to a Kentucky alumni squad, La Familia, on Sunday afternoon. That contest is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 pm EST inside the Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky., with television coverage on Fox.
The 39-year-old Devendorf, one of the all-time leading scorers in TBT history, chipped in seven points when Boeheim's Army emerged victorious in its first game against Hall In, 82-52, on the road last Tuesday.

The current Boeheim's Army roster is already a little thin heading into Sunday afternoon's quarterfinals against La Familia. In the first two encounters for Boeheim's Army, the team was without power forward Jacorey Williams (Arkansas and Middle Tennessee State), wing Wes Johnson and power forward Chris McCullough.
It's unclear whether any of those three players will be available on Sunday afternoon in Lexington. According to reports, Boeheim's Army general manager and assistant coach Shaun Belbey says that he's eyeing potentially adding another player to the roster via a reserve list that is new to the summer tournament in 2026.
To be available, a player on the reserve list must be activated to the team's roster at least 24 hours ahead of tip-off, meaning that it would have to happen by 2:00 pm EST on Saturday. Devendorf, per reports, will keep traveling with Boeheim's Army and help out in a coaching capacity, which is awesome to hear, because he's a natural leader and knows this event well.
