'Dynamic' 4-star PG at West Coast powerhouse eyes visit to Syracuse women's basketball

Chasity Rice, a 2027 four-star point guard who competes for a national powerhouse in California, plans to take an official visit to Syracuse women's basketball at some point, her high school and AAU head coach tells Inside the Loud House.

The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to the 5-foot-5 floor general on July 17 of this year, according to her Instagram page. Late last month, Rice played a key role as the Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based Sports Academy Swish won the 17U title on Nike's EYBL circuit during the season-ending playoffs in Chicago.

Rice is also a standout at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. In the 2025-26 campaign, Etiwanda went 30-4 overall and was ranked No. 10 nationally by MaxPreps. The Eagles were aiming for their fourth consecutive CIF Open Division state championship in California but lost in the tournament's semifinals.

Etiwanda won the MaxPreps national title at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, going 32-3 overall. Looking ahead to 2026-27, MaxPreps has the Eagles as the preseason No. 4 team around the country.

The legendary Stan Delus, who is the head coach of both Etiwanda and the Sports Academy Swish, tells me that Rice averaged 20 points and five assists per game in the latest EYBL season. As a junior at Etiwanda, she averaged 20 points and four assists per contest, her head coach says.

In 2025-26, MaxPreps gave Rice an honorable mention nod for its junior All-America teams. She was also named to the California All-State fourth team.

Syracuse women's basketball is likely to get an official visit from 2027 four-star PG Chasity Rice.

Earlier this week, Talia Goodman of On3/Rivals reported that Rice has set an official visit to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school SMU for September 12. Delus, in a telephone interview with Inside the Loud House on Wednesday, said that he and Rice are discussing her upcoming official visit schedule, and that the Orange is likely to get one.

The SU coaches "are really nice and easy to talk to," Delus said. "Chasity is looking forward to visiting Syracuse and seeing the campus."

Delus added that Rice currently has an unofficial top seven that includes Syracuse women's basketball, SMU, Notre Dame, San Diego State, Columbia, Georgetown and UNLV.

So what kind of player is this 'Cuse recruiting target? "She's dynamic, fast, one of the best 3-point shooting point guards and a two-way player who defends well. She usually guards the other team's top player," Delus said, adding: "Crafty. ... A great rebounding point guard."
