Big Ten Conference powerhouse Michigan fired head coach Sherrone Moore on Wednesday, so let's take a look at Wolverines' commits in the 2026 class who held Syracuse football scholarship offers.

I'm not suggesting that the Orange staff will pursue any of these Michigan commits. That remains to be seen. However, I did want to pass along the information, as I often do when the head coach of a college program is let go. Sometimes, 'Cuse coaches will make a run at high school prospects who are committed to a team where there is a head coaching change, as players may elect to reopen their respective recruitments.

During the early signing period that closed last week, the Orange saw 26 high school seniors officially sign. The 'Cuse 2026 class is No. 30 nationally, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. This Syracuse football cycle is the program's highest-ranked one in the modern recruiting services era.

Michigan, by the way, went 9-3 in the 2025 regular season. Ranked No. 18 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, the Wolverines will face Southeastern Conference school and No. 13 Texas (9-3 overall) in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on December 31 in Orlando, Fla.
