DART. Another one. Late Wednesday night (way past my bedtime), Syracuse football landed a verbal pledge from 2027 offensive lineman Connor Long from New Jersey, he revealed on social media.
A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Connor! The massive 6-foot-8, 343-pound Long received a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse in January of this year, and it was his first power-four conference offer.

He has visited the Hill twice: Once back in March, and then again last Saturday on Homecoming as Syracuse football welcomed Pittsburgh to the JMA Wireless Dome. Long is a junior at Old Bridge High School in Matawan, N.J.

Head coach Fran Brown and several of his assistants hail from New Jersey, and the Garden State is a heavy recruiting focus for the program along the Northeast corridor. According to 247Sports, besides the Orange, Long held early scholarship offers from Rhode Island and Toledo.
Had an amazing visit at Syracuse today. I wanna thank the coaches for such a welcoming environment. Looking forward to being back soon! 🍊#goorange @CuseFootball @5StarFBRecruits @coach_hadac @AlexKellyCuse @CoachEMarcCuse @CoachNunz @SyracuseOn247 @Hayesfawcett3 @Rivals… pic.twitter.com/Cn4bkdXI5x

Syracuse football has beefed up its 2027 class.
With Long on board, the Orange's 2027 cycle is up to seven verbal pledges, and it is ranked No. 3 around the country by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. That's impressive. This Syracuse football 2027 class contains one four-star prospect in athlete Tristin Hughes and multiple three-star players.

Here's the entire 'Cuse 2027 cycle, in alphabetical order:
•Three-star athlete Davion Crumitie of Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Fla.
•Three-star quarterback Justin Dixon of the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md.
•Four-star athlete Tristin Hughes of Rocky River High School in Rocky River, Ohio
•Offensive lineman Connor Long of Old Bridge High School in Matawan, N.J.
•Three-star defensive back Travis Miles of Hillside High School in Hillside, N.J.
•Three-star defensive lineman Stanley Montgomery of Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia
•Three-star athlete Tank White of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla.
Needless to say, Brown and his assistants are off to a fast start in 2027, and the Orange staff is in pursuit of many other top-flight high school juniors, including some who are rated either four stars or five stars.
Also on Wednesday, the 'Cuse secured a huge addition to its 2026 class. Three-star defensive lineman Alexander Haskell of the St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia flipped his verbal commitment from Big Ten Conference school Penn State to Syracuse football.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Haskell had reopened his recruitment in the wake of the Nittany Lions firing head coach James Franklin on October 12. The Orange's 2026 cycle is up to 29 verbal pledges and ranks No. 25 overall by the 247Sports Composite.
