Four-star defensive back/wide receiver Zion Davis from Miami, one of the top cornerbacks around the country in the 2028 class, will visit Syracuse football for the Orange's annual spring game on Saturday, April 11, according to an Instagram post from 247Sports national analyst Tom Loy.
Fun things.
The 6-foot, 160-pound Davis spent his sophomore year during the 2025 campaign at Miami Killian Senior High School, but according to an Instagram post last month from E1ite Sportz, Davis is transferring for his junior term to Miami Central High School.
While Davis' recruiting process could have a way to go, he already has a boatload of scholarship offers. Teams that have offered him, besides the 'Cuse, include Auburn, California, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, UCF and West Virginia, among others.
At this juncture, the hometown Miami Hurricanes are in the lead for Davis, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine. That's not a big surprise.
Four-star sophomore Zion Davis from the Sunshine State will visit Syracuse football.
In the 2025 season for Miami Killian Senior High School, according to MaxPreps, Davis had 78 receiving yards. On defense, he had 13 solo tackles, 18 total tackles, one tackle for a loss, one interception, nine pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Within the 2028 class, the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking places Davis at No. 210 overall, No. 18 at cornerback and No. 29 in talent-rich Florida. Rivals has him at No. 62 nationwide, No. 8 at cornerback and No. 19 in the Sunshine State.
Across numerous cycles, the Orange coaching staff has fared extremely well in Florida, which arguably has the most talent across the board in high school football. Head coach Fran Brown and general manager Tommy Caporale, in particular, are leading Syracuse football's recruiting charge in the Sunshine State.
According to Loy, Davis has other spring visits set to Texas A&M, Miami, Florida State and Florida. The in-state suitors for Davis will be tough to beat, but I'd never count out Brown in a recruiting battle.
