Syracuse football offered a scholarship to Sunshine State product Quinston Howard, a 2028 four-star offensive tackle, in January 2025. It was his first power conference offer.

These days, according to national analysts, the Orange is among the suitors standing out to the 6-foot-6, 325-pound Howard, and he's eyeing a visit to the Hill. A source confirms to Inside the Loud House that the Syracuse football staff is pushing to get Howard up to Central New York for a visit at some point.

Howard, who says that he has a 7-foot-2 wingspan, is a junior at St. Petersburg Catholic High School in St. Petersburg, Fla. His team went a strong 12-1 overall when Howard was a sophomore. So far in the 2026 season, St. Petersburg Catholic High School has a 3-3 mark, according to MaxPreps.

Orange head coach Fran Brown and his staff, led by general manager Tommy Caporale, have fared quite well recruiting Florida-based high school prospects across numerous cycles; the program's sole 2028 verbal pledge to date, for example, also hails from the talent-rich Sunshine State.

Syracuse football appears to be a contender for 2028 4-star OT Quinston Howard.

Beyond the Orange, according to recruiting services, Howard's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Arkansas, Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, UCF, Wisconsin, South Florida, Toledo, Liberty, UMass and FIU, among others.

Within the 2028 class, 247Sports places him at No. 243 overall, No. 30 at offensive tackle and No. 26 in Florida. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite has Howard at No. 361 nationally, No. 38 at his position and No. 45 in the Sunshine State. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, he is No. 356 nationwide, No. 31 at offensive tackle and No. 47 in Florida.

To date, Brown and his staff have one verbal commitment in their 2028 cycle from four-star offensive tackle and top-125 national prospect Omari Lawson out of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound Lawson took recent game-day visits to in-state college teams Florida State and Florida, according to his X page.

Last month, when Syracuse football fell to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school California at the JMA Wireless Dome, Lawson was on hand for a game-day visit to the 'Cuse, Inside the Loud House reported at the time.
