Roseby Lubintus, who is nicknamed "Purgatory," will wear Orange in the future.
In another example of the recruiting prowess under head coach Fran Brown, Syracuse football flipped the 2026 three-star offensive tackle from Big Ten Conference powerhouse Penn State, which made the most recent College Football Playoff, to the 'Cuse.

Tremendous. A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Roseby!
An interview that Lubintus conducted with On3/Rivals vice president of national college football recruiting and the transfer portal, Steve Wiltfong, was quite telling.
BREAKING: 2026 3-star offensive lineman Roseby Lubintus (@RosebyLubintus) said on X that he has flipped from Penn State to Syracuse football. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound Lubintus is from Timber Creek Regional High School in Erial, N.J. A huge congrats and welcome, @RosebyLubintus! 🎯

Lubintus said: "I realized Syracuse, Coach Fran, all the coaches there are the best place for me as a person, for football and the best overall."
Via 247Sports, Lubintus is the No. 41 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. He's also in the top 800 nationally, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
Syracuse football has a special 2026 class.
The 6-foot-6, 330-pound Lubintus is a rising senior at Timber Creek Regional High School in Erial, N.J. As we've discussed many times, Brown and several other Orange coaches hail from New Jersey, and the Garden State is a heavy recruiting focus for the Syracuse football program.
After a great and REAL talk with @Coach_E_Rob and @CoachB_Wright79 I am truly grateful to receive an offer from Syracuse Orange University 🍊🙏 pic.twitter.com/78Wf4rR3Ip

The 'Cuse staff offered a scholarship to Lubintus in May of last year. Last November, per his X page, Lubintus was at the JMA Wireless Dome as Syracuse football knocked off top-10 Miami in the 2024 regular-season finale.

In April, he took an official visit to the Orange. Lubintus then had the 'Cuse in his top five before verbally committing to Penn State toward the end of April. But Brown remained in pursuit of him. "He still took the time to FaceTime, text me, whenever and just keep it 100 with me," Lubintus said of Brown.

Syracuse football is up to 27 verbal pledges in its 2026 class, which is rated No. 21 overall via the 247Sports Composite. Over the weekend, the Orange scored its highest-ranked commitment in more than two decades when five-star wide receiver and top-25 national prospect Calvin Russell lll of Miami Northwestern Senior High School chose the 'Cuse over Michigan, Oregon and Florida State.
Without question, Brown and his staff have the nation's attention, given the 10-3 record that the team achieved in 2024, and the recruiting wins that the program has secured of late.
To that end, Lubintus said to Wiltfong, "Syracuse you can see it from the outside that they are rebuilding something. We are getting more recruits. We are getting a whole bunch of studs whether you like it or not. I feel it’s going to be something great and I want to be part of it. I want to show what I can put out there. I don’t want to be another jersey number. I want people to know who I am."
Lubintus is right. The Orange is getting a whole bunch of studs. And the fan base is loving it.
