Kaylib Singleton from Florida, a three-star defensive back and a nationally ranked prospect in the 2025 class, will take an official visit to Syracuse football during the weekend of November 23, per a post on X from Rivals.com national analyst John Garcia Jr.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Singleton, who also runs track and field, is a senior at Oakleaf High School in Orange Park, Fla., not far from Jacksonville. He verbally committed to Big Ten Conference school Rutgers back in mid-June.

However, in an X post on October 20, Singleton said that he was de-committing from the Scarlet Knights and reopening his recruitment.

Singleton's official visit to the Orange coincides with Syracuse football hosting non-conference foe UConn on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Syracuse football will get an official visit from 2025 three-star defensive back Kaylib Singleton.

On March 9 of this year, Singleton said that he picked up a scholarship offer from 'Cuse first-year head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff, who have made the Sunshine State a geographic recruiting focus since officially taking over the Syracuse football program in early December of 2023.

According to his bio on the 247Sports Web site, Singleton holds around two dozen offers from schools such as Florida, Rutgers, Boston College, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, UCF, West Virginia and USF, among others.

When I wrote this article, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, within the 2025 cycle, placed Singleton at No. 747 overall, No. 66 at cornerback and No. 101 in Florida. Over at the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, he checked in at No. 716 nationally, No. 71 at cornerback and No. 92 in Florida.

While it's encouraging that Syracuse football will get Singleton to Central New York for an official visit next month, Southeastern Conference team Florida may prove tough to beat in his recruitment. At the time of this writing, I counted at least eight predictions in the direction of the Gators for Singleton between the 247Sports Web site, Rivals.com and the On3 Web site.

To date, the Orange coaching staff has secured at least 30 verbal commitments in its 2025 class, a cycle that hovers around the top 35 nationally, per several recruiting Web sites.

This 'Cuse class does include several other defensive backs. For one, in late September, four-star athlete/defensive back Demetres Samuel Jr. of Heritage High School in Palm Bay, Fla., flipped his verbal pledge back to Syracuse football from Florida.
