Multiple analyst predictions have arrived for Syracuse football in the recruitment of 2024 four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby from New Jersey, who plans to officially visit the Orange this coming weekend, according to a media report.

SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister reported that the 6-foot-3, 204-pound Hornsby will take an official visit to the Hill this weekend, beginning on December 8.

On July 1, Hornsby gave a verbal commitment to Southeastern Conference member Texas A&M. Per McAllister, his primary recruiter with the Aggies has been Elijah Robinson, who was co-defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for Texas A&M.

However, on Monday, Camden, N.J., native Fran Brown was officially introduced as the new head coach of Syracuse football, replacing Dino Babers. Brown, at that time, confirmed that Robinson will be the Orange’s new defensive coordinator.

According to national observers, both Brown and Robinson have extensive recruiting ties to both New Jersey and throughout the Northeast region, so it’s understandable that Hornsby is giving the ‘Cuse a closer look.

Syracuse football appears to be a big contender for 2024 four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby.

According to Rivals.com and reports, Hornsby holds more than two-dozen offers from college squads such as Georgia, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, N.C. State, UConn, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Boston College, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.

Per 247Sports, Hornsby picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse football in January of this year. On Monday, several national analysts logged predictions in the Orange’s direction for Hornsby on the 247Sports Web site.

Hornsby is a standout senior at Winslow Township High School in Atco, N.J. According to a recent post that he published on his X page, in his senior season at Winslow Township, Hornsby hauled in 22 passes for 420 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games played. On defense, he had one interception.

For what it’s worth, the early signing period for 2024 prospects in college football is scheduled to run from December 20 to December 22 of 2023.

When I wrote this article on Tuesday morning, Rivals.com had Hornsby as the No. 64 wide receiver and the No. 5 prospect in New Jersey within the 2024 class. Over at On3, he checked in as the No. 67 wide receiver and the No. 9 prospect in New Jersey.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rated Hornsby at No. 471 nationwide, No. 68 at wide receiver and No. 9 in New Jersey.

In the wake of Brown being named the new head coach of Syracuse football, and other new assistants coming on board, the Orange is set to host several highly ranked prospects on official visits this coming weekend.

One of those additional players who will make a trip to the Hill this weekend is 2024 four-star edge KingJoseph Edwards, who is a top-250 national prospect in the senior cycle.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Edwards, a defensive end/tight end at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga., has a final three of the ‘Cuse, Colorado and fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Florida State, per a recent report from Hayes Fawcett of On3.

That article noted that Edwards is eyeing a commitment announcement on December 19. Numerous analysts, at this juncture, have projected that Edwards will ultimately pledge to Syracuse football.
