Syracuse Basketball: Fast-rising 4-star wing sets official visit to the Orange
By Neil Adler
London Jemison, a fast-rising national prospect in the 2025 class, is eyeing his first official visit toward the end of the year, and it will be to Syracuse basketball, according to a media report.
The 6-foot-8 Jemison, a four-star small forward, tells On3 national analyst/scout Jamie Shaw that he plans to take an official visit to the Orange on December 30, which is awesome news to hear.
The ‘Cuse, by the way, is scheduled to host fellow Atlantic Coast Conference team Pittsburgh at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday, Dec. 30, beginning at noon.
The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to Jemison in late September. Not too long ago, he told basketball outlet Pro Insight that the ‘Cuse was among the schools in regular contact with him these days.
Syracuse basketball is expected to welcome 2025 four-star wing London Jemison on an official visit.
Jemison, a native of Bloomfield, Conn., attends the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., which is a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (“NEPSAC”). He previously played at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, Conn.
At the recently held National Prep Showcase in New Haven, Conn., a prestigious annual event, multiple national analysts and scouts praised Jemison for his play against high-quality competition.
During the most recent AAU term, Jemison suited up for the 17U team of the Boston-based Expressions Elite in Nike’s EYBL league. In early May, he announced on social media that he would move from the 2024 class to the 2025 cycle.
Besides Syracuse basketball, his current offer sheet includes schools such as Villanova, Xavier, Providence, Virginia, Temple, George Mason, Boston University, Rice, Saint Joseph’s, Rhode Island, Yale, Fairfield, UMass and Brown. Kansas, which won the 2022 NCAA Tournament, has reportedly shown interest in Jemison.
In Shaw’s piece, Jemison noted that he’s also talking a lot these days to suitors including Virginia, Xavier, and Providence.
Earlier this month, I wrote an article on Jemison where I included some insights from Pro Insight analyst Zach Welch and other recruiting experts, who note that Jemison has an intriguing skillset on both ends of the floor.
"Regarding Syracuse basketball, Jemison said to Shaw, “Coach G-Mac (Gerry McNamara) always tells me how much he really appreciates my game and what they could do for wings. So, watching them play and stuff, I like the pace of their game. They like to run and dunk, take open threes, and play hard.”"
Jemison says he doesn’t have a specific timeframe at this juncture for making a college decision. He does plan to take additional visits beyond his upcoming trip to Central New York.
When I wrote this column on Wednesday night, both ESPN and Rivals.com had Jemison rated as four stars. He’s just inside the top 125 in the 2025 class, per 247Sports.
Recently, Rivals.com updated its top 150 for the junior cycle, and this recruiting service vaulted Jemison from unranked to No. 102 around the country.
It’s wonderful that the fast-rising Jemison is going to officially visit the ‘Cuse, and it does appear that he’s emerged as a priority recruit for Syracuse basketball coaches in the 2025 class.
