Syracuse Football: Diving into Cuse’s ACC opponents in 2024 and beyond

The Atlantic Coast Conference has dropped the league foes of Syracuse football for 2024 through the 2030 season, and it’s all kind of strange to see California, SMU and Stanford on the Orange’s docket.

Per SU Athletics, the ‘Cuse will continue to play both Pittsburgh and Boston College in every campaign. The Panthers and the Eagles are long-time rivals of the Orange.

In adding Pac-12 Conference members Cal and Stanford, as well as SMU out of the American Athletic Conference, the ACC has grown its football membership to 17 teams.

Besides suiting up versus Pitt and Boston College every year, the ‘Cuse will then rotate through the remaining 14 league opponents in this seven-year window between 2024 and 2030.

According to SU Athletics, the Orange’s schedule will keep having eight ACC games annually, with all 17 conference squads playing each other a minimum of two times over the next seven stanzas.

Syracuse football knows its ACC opponents through the 2030 campaign.

Beginning in 2024 and over the next seven years, all of the current 14 league members, including Syracuse football, will play three times in the state of California and never in back-to-back seasons.

As it is now, the ACC will continue to have no divisions, with the top two teams (based on conference winning percentage) playing in the league’s championship game on the first Saturday in December in Charlotte, N.C.

In 2024, the Orange’s ACC foes include Virginia Tech, Miami, Stanford and Georgia Tech at home. On the road next season, the ‘Cuse will face Pittsburgh, Boston College, N.C. State and Cal. Naturally, Cal is getting right back in this, right?

What do you think of this eight-game league line-up for Syracuse football in 2024? On paper, it doesn’t seem overly brutal, but then again, the ‘Cuse has to play better than it has of late, or even an “easier” schedule will prove an issue.
