Syracuse Basketball: 4-star Kiyan Anthony shoots into the top 25 nationally
By Neil Adler
Syracuse basketball 2025 priority recruit Kiyan Anthony continues to climb up the national rankings, as he remains one of the fastest-rising prospects around the country in the junior class.
The 6-foot-5 Anthony, who took an official visit to the Hill last weekend, is a four-star shooting guard in the 2025 class who is inching closer and closer to five-star status.
Several of the primary recruiting services, within the junior cycle, rank him as a top-40 national prospect, a top-10 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in New York.
However, Kiyan Anthony has soared even higher than that in a new set of 2025 national rankings from The Circuit. In recent days, The Circuit published new ratings for this class, and Anthony arrived at No. 25.
To date, that’s the highest 2025 national ranking that I’ve come across for Kiyan Anthony, and that sort of rating is well-deserved, given the breakout spring and summer that he had on the AAU circuit.
Syracuse basketball is recruiting 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony hard these days.
Anthony is a junior at the powerhouse Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., which is a member of the loaded 10-team National Interscholastic Basketball Conference (“NIBC”). In the 2023-24 campaign, Long Island Lutheran is expected to compete for a national championship, according to high-school hoops experts.
In the most recent grassroots basketball season, Kiyan Anthony earned high praise from national analysts and scouts as he starred for the Baltimore-based Team Melo in Nike’s EYBL league.
Beyond his recent official visit to the ‘Cuse, he also officially visited fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Florida State, and Anthony has said numerous times that he also wants to officially visit Big Ten Conference schools Indiana and Michigan.
At this stage in his recruiting process, his full offer sheet includes squads such as West Virginia, UCF, Michigan, Maryland, Dayton, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Albany, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Seton Hall, UMass, Providence, Memphis, Bryant, George Mason and Manhattan.
In the wake of his trip to Central New York, On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives the ‘Cuse a slight lead over FSU at this juncture, however, as Kiyan Anthony takes more official visits in the coming months, things will ebb and flow here.
That being said, Syracuse basketball is a significant contender to prevail for Anthony, but by no means is it a guarantee that he will ultimately pledge to the Orange. He has maintained that while continuing the legacy of his dad, ‘Cuse legend Carmelo Anthony, on the Hill is appealing, Kiyan Anthony has stressed that he’s keeping his options open.
Syracuse basketball fans, in the 2023-24 season, will have multiple opportunities to watch Anthony suit up on national broadcasts, and he will have plenty of chances to further boost his stock during his junior term at Long Island Lutheran.
