The Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite will commence its 2023-24 regular season in early December, after holding various preseason events between now and then, and Syracuse basketball fans will have an opportunity to check out several Overtime Elite players this coming term who have recruiting connections to the Orange.

Overtime Elite, according to its Web site and a recent report from college basketball insider Adam Zagoria, will feature eight teams in 2023-24. Three of those squads are based in Atlanta, while the other five groups consist of various high schools around the country that are affiliated with Overtime Elite.

Perhaps most importantly, in 2023-24, Syracuse basketball 2024 four-star commit Elijah Moore is playing in Overtime Elite during his senior year. The 6-foot-4 Moore, a top-flight shooting guard in his class, verbally pledged to the ‘Cuse in late January over other finalists Alabama, Arkansas, Miami and Oklahoma State.

After having a standout junior stanza at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y., Moore not too long ago transferred to the Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, which is part of Overtime Elite.

Let’s look at various Syracuse basketball recruits who are competing in Overtime Elite this coming season.

Here are the eight teams in Overtime Elite for 2023-24:
•Blue Checks (the Combine Academy in Lincolnton, N.C.)
•City Reapers (Overtime Elite team based in Atlanta)
•Cold Hearts (Overtime Elite team based in Atlanta)
•Diamond Doves (PHHoenix Prep in Phoenix)
•JellyFam (Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, N.Y.)
•RWE (Overtime Elite team based in Atlanta)
•Rolling Loud (the Southern California Academy in Northridge, Calif.)
•YNG Dreamerz (Moravian Prep in Hudson, N.C.)

Moore is playing for JellyFam. One of his teammates is 2024 five-star guard Ian Jackson, a former Syracuse basketball recruiting target who is verbally committed to North Carolina.

On the City Reapers roster is Parker Robinson. The 6-foot-5 Robinson, a 2026 combo guard, spent his freshman season at Good Counsel High School in Olney, Md., before transferring to Overtime Elite. In late August, Robinson took an unofficial visit to the Hill to play in the Orange’s annual Elite Camp.

Suiting up for Cold Hearts is 2026 five-star wing Adam Oumiddoch, who transferred to Overtime Elite after playing as a freshman at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Va. In late July, during an interview with scouting service Pro Insight, Oumiddoch said that the ‘Cuse was on his radar.

One of the standouts for RWE is 2025 five-star point guard Tyler Jackson, who was offered by the Orange in late April and has said more than once that he’s interested in taking an official visit to Syracuse basketball at some point. Jackson transferred to Overtime Elite after earning honors as a sophomore at the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore.

DeMarco Johnson, a 2025 four-star combo guard, will play for Rolling Loud in 2023-24. He picked up a ‘Cuse offer in late July and has said that he’s interested in taking either an unofficial or official visit to Syracuse basketball in the future.

As I mentioned, Overtime Elite teams are presently engaged in various preseason events. The 2023-24 regular season officially gets underway on Friday, Dec. 1, and the league’s playoffs are scheduled to run from late February to mid-March of 2024.

If you’d like to follow Overtime Elite players and the league’s schedule on an ongoing basis, you can do so via the Overtime Elite Web site.

The first two nights of regular-season action include recruiting ties to Syracuse basketball. Games will be played then at the OTE Arena in Atlanta. Check it out:

So on December 1, Moore will face Robinson, while Oumiddoch will battle Jackson. The following night, Robinson will go toe to toe with Oumiddoch, and Moore will have a juicy encounter with Jackson.
