Four-star Sadiq White is one of the top forwards around the country in the 2025 class, and reports suggest that the 6-foot-8 White is high on Syracuse basketball.

In mid-September, he took an unofficial visit to the Hill. As I noted in another recent column, White told SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister that he will “definitely” go on an official visit to the ‘Cuse at some point down the line, which is terrific to hear.

The Orange coaching staff appears to be prioritizing White in the junior class, as assistant Brenden Straughn also was in attendance for White not too long ago during an open gym at his North Carolina high school amid the fall recruiting period.

White is a standout for an excellent program, Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C. According to some high-school hoops experts, Myers Park is expected to contend for a top-25 national ranking in the 2023-24 season, when White is a junior.

Syracuse basketball is recruiting 2025 four-star forward Sadiq White hard.

The Orange coaching staff offered a scholarship to White in late April. During the most recent AAU season, he earned high praise from national analysts and scouts while competing for the Charlotte-based Team United in Nike’s EYBL league.

White’s full offer sheet also includes Ohio State, Georgetown, N.C. State, Tennessee, Texas, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Alabama, among others.

His unofficial visit schedule in the near future, including trips already taken and those coming up, is to suitors such as Texas, Cincinnati, N.C. State, South Carolina and LSU.

When recruiting service On3 updated its top 150 of the 2025 cycle in recent days, White arrived as No. 39 overall, No. 8 at power forward and No. 1 in North Carolina.

At present, several other recruiting Web sites rate White inside the top 30, so his new On3 ranking is a little lower than that.

Regardless, White is an elite forward in this class. Assuming he has a standout junior year for a nationally ranked Myers Park squad, I see no reason why White can’t make a run at five stars and a top-25 overall rating in the 2025 cycle.

In his recent interview with McAllister, White had numerous positive things to say about his unofficial visit to the ‘Cuse and the Syracuse basketball program in general.

I look forward to continuing to follow his recruitment, including if and when White schedules an official visit to the Orange.
