Syracuse football coaches have done a great job so far securing verbal commitments from high-school prospects in New Jersey within the 2024 class, and the Orange is hoping that success extends to the 2025 cycle.
To that end, 2025 four-star athlete Cameron Miller, who is a top-10 player in the Garden State, recently disclosed his top eight on Twitter. The ‘Cuse, encouragingly, made the cut.
Syracuse football, though, faces some hefty competition as it looks to win out for the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Miller, who is rated as a top-300 national prospect in the rising-junior class, per several recruiting services.
Miller’s top eight consist of the Orange, two-time defending national champion Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Illinois and Rutgers.
Syracuse football remains in the running for 2025 four-star athlete Cameron Miller.
According to media reports and recruiting services, Miller suits up at both cornerback and wide receiver. He attends Winslow Township High School, which is located in Atco, N.J.
In the 2022 season, as a sophomore for Winslow Township, Miller caught 29 passes for 436 yards and six receiving touchdowns, per his bio on the MaxPreps Web site. On defense, he tallied 38 total tackles. Additionally, Miller had four kickoff returns for a combined 100 yards.
I took a look at his bio on various recruiting Web sites, and Miller has received around 20 scholarship offers throughout his recruitment. Per his Twitter page, Miller picked up an offer from the ‘Cuse in September of 2022.
His full offer sheet has included Boston College, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse football, Temple, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wisconsin, James Madison, Liberty and UConn.
Both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking rank him as four stars. Via the 247Sports Composite, Miller is No. 296 overall, No. 28 at cornerback and No. 10 in New Jersey.
The On3 Industry Ranking places him at No. 291 nationally, No. 28 at cornerback and No. 9 in New Jersey. Nationwide, ESPN has Miller at No. 284. Rivals.com, meanwhile, rates him as the No. 26 athlete in the 2025 class.
"In a recent article that I came across on syracuse.rivals.com, Miller had this to say about the Orange program. “I talk a lot with coach MJ (wide receivers coach Michael Johnson). The thing about Syracuse is the culture and the brotherhood they have. They also have a standard to win games.”"
In its 2024 cycle, at this juncture, the ‘Cuse has 17 verbal commitments, including a half-dozen from prospects in New Jersey. When I penned this column, several recruiting services ranked the Syracuse football 2024 class just inside the top 50 around the country.
The Orange, at present, doesn’t have a verbal commitment in its 2025 cycle. I’ll continue to monitor Miller’s recruiting process moving forward.
