Flashback to Monday, May 15th…a day that Syracuse football got three portal transfers in one day (and basketball even got one, too).

A little over one month later, on Monday, June 26th, Syracuse football got three verbal commitments from 2024 high school recruits in one day as well. Hard to hate Mondays like those.

So let’s take a moment to introduce the three new Orange football verbal commitments with their official tweet acknowledging their choosing Syracuse University.

Syracuse football had a terrific Monday on the recruiting trail.

And needless to say, the recent four-star QB commit Jakhari Williams woke up that same morning happy to join them.

And on top of that, let’s add one more tweet as my Orange brother here at Inside the Loud House, Neil Adler, shared a story about another possible recruit joining the Orange family named Willy Love. Willy is a 2024 four-star player who has Syracuse football in his top seven, which you can read about in Neil’s story. And Willy shared his story with a quote tweet asking for some love.

Maybe Monday’s aren’t so bad after all. And maybe Syracuse football recruiting isn’t so bad after all despite what Steve from Salina posted on his Facebook page or tweeted to the coaching staff. Maybe sometimes we can take a day like today to realize that Syracuse has coaches and staff busting their butts and often traveling spending time away from family to bring in the best players possible to play here.

If you can’t appreciate days like today and the hard work that goes into this process, I’m sorry but days like today show me that this is a program I want to support and love. And the ‘Cuse has certainly been on a recruiting roll of late, securing numerous verbal commitments in its 2024 class.

Even if you don’t follow the recruiting process or believe in the star system, days like today can still show you that this is a program that players want to be a part of. This is also why I feel it’s equally important to put forth positive energy on social media in regards to the university and recruiting no matter how you feel.

These players see the excitement and support and it can help them see why coming to Syracuse to a welcoming and supportive environment away from their home is worth it.

So Syracuse football fans, take a breath and enjoy moments like these because this is an offseason win. Let’s be excited about the program and the future and thankful for those who are sharing their blood, sweat and tears simply to make Syracuse football the best college football team possible.

Yes it’s their job but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate them doing it for the betterment of the program we love and grew up on.

Thank you to those who commit to play for Syracuse football, the team we love. Thank you to the staff kissing their kids goodbye in the morning to travel to represent the school trying to bring in the best players they think will fit the program and the university. And thank you to my fellow fans who see this effort and don’t share hateful comments on social media towards recruits or staff simply trying to do what’s best for everyone.

Today and every day I’m grateful to bleed Orange.
