Sadiq White from North Carolina, one of several 2025 prospects recently offered by Syracuse basketball, continues to ascend in the national rankings for his class.
Not too long ago, the 6-foot-8 small forward/power forward jumped to No. 10 overall, according to updated national rankings from MADE Hoops.
And when I penned this column, I saw that White checked in as five stars per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, which also has him as No. 22 across the country, No. 3 at small forward and No. 1 in North Carolina.
In late April, White said that he had picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff. He is a rising junior at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C.
New Syracuse basketball target Sadiq White is a five-star player in the 2025 cycle.
This spring on the AAU circuit, White has won high marks from national analysts and scouts as he has put together strong performances while suiting up for the 16U division of the Charlotte-based Team United in Nike’s EYBL league.
Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, for example, he was listed as a standout performer by numerous recruiting experts for his play during the EYBL’s fourth and final regular-season session in Memphis, Tenn. This Nike AAU league will hold its annual Peach Jam tournament in early July.
"Travis Branham, a national analyst with 247Sports, was on hand in Memphis and watched White compete. Branham wrote in part that during this fourth EYBL session, “White had his biggest matchup of the season against elite 2025 player Cooper Flagg and Maine United. While bringing it on defense, like he always does, he also got to show a much improved offensive skillset. He is much more comfortable and fluid slashing, finishing at the rim and also showed the ability to create and make shots from range.”"
Per the EYBL Web site, for the entirety of the spring regular season, White has averaged 12.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.9 minutes per game, while hitting on an impressive 57.5 percent from the field and 37.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Besides Syracuse basketball, White’s offer sheet includes squads such as Texas, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Alabama, among others.
As a sophomore for Myers Park in the 2022-23 campaign, White averaged 11.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per affair, according to MaxPreps.
On a national scale in the 2025 class, he is ranked No. 20 from 247Sports, No. 30 by the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, No. 32 via Rivals.com, No. 35 per ESPN and No. 50 from On3.
