Syracuse Basketball: ‘Cuse gets into mix for 4-star, top-20 player from N.C.
By Neil Adler
Syracuse basketball coaches have doled out a couple of scholarship offers following a live period on the AAU circuit last weekend.
One of those offers has gone to 2025 four-star small forward Sadiq White from North Carolina, he disclosed via Twitter this week.
The 6-foot-8 small forward/power forward is a four-star, top-50 national prospect in the sophomore class, with one of the primary recruiting services rating him in the top 20 across the country in this cycle.
White attends Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C. In grassroots basketball, he competes for the Charlotte-based Team United in Nike’s EYBL league.
Syracuse basketball recently offered 2025 four-star small forward Sadiq White.
According to the MaxPreps Web site, during the 2022-23 season for Myers Park, as a sophomore, White averaged 11.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
This past weekend, amid the NCAA live period, the EYBL held its first session of the AAU circuit during the spring and summer months at the LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, Ga.
Per the EYBL Web site, in five games for Team United within the 16U division, White averaged 11.2 points, 4.8 boards, 1.2 assists and 25.6 minutes per contest, and he connected on 58.7 percent from the field. Team United went 3-2 overall.
According to recruiting services, besides the Orange, White’s offer sheet includes Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Alabama, among others.
As the contact period opens up in mid-June, allowing college coaches to initiate direct communication with 2025 prospects, I’m sure that White will see his offer list substantially grow, if not sooner than that.
When I penned this column, 247Sports rated him at No. 20 overall, No. 3 at small forward and No. 1 in North Carolina within the sophomore cycle.
Nationally speaking, White is No. 30 from the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, No. 32 from Rivals.com and No. 35 from ESPN.
To my knowledge, in the 2025 class, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered five other players. They are four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, five-star combo guard Darius Adams, four-star point guard Jerry Easter II, four-star wing Efeosa Oliogu and four-star wing Brandon Stores Jr.
