Syracuse basketball 2024 four-star commit Elijah Moore and his teammates in New York City only recently completed their 2022-23 season, but already plans are being made for the following term.

The 6-foot-4 Moore, one of the top shooting guards across the country in the junior cycle, will aim for a stellar senior stanza at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y., which is one of the top squads throughout the Empire State.

In the 2023-24 campaign, it was just announced that Cardinal Hayes will be a participant in one of the top tournaments across the country, the Bass Pro Shops Tournament Of Champions.

According to media reports, the 2024 Bass Pro Shops Tournament Of Champions will take place from January 11 to January 13 of next year at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Mo.

Syracuse basketball 2024 four-star commit Elijah Moore will vie for an elite tourney title.

Besides Cardinal Hayes, the eight-team field of the 2024 Bass Pro Shops Tournament Of Champions consists of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Edmond North High School in Edmond, Okla., McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga., St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, Va., Glendale High School in Springfield, Mo., and Central High School, which is also in Springfield.

If Elijah Moore and Cardinal Hayes hope to capture the 2024 Bass Pro Shops Tournament Of Champions title, they will have to navigate a field that includes several groups that are in preseason top-25 national rankings recently disclosed by high-school hoops analyst and scout Samad Hines.

Cardinal Hayes, which finished the 2022-23 term at 19-10 overall, checks in at No. 15 in Hines’ ratings. This past season, Cardinal Hayes won the New York “AA” Archdiocesan tournament title and reached the championship game of the New York Catholic High School Athletic Association (“CHSAA”) “AA” intersectional (city) playoffs.

In Hines’ preseason top 25, St. Paul VI Catholic High School is No. 4, Bishop Gorman High School is No. 9, and McEachern High School is No. 13.

During the most recent term, according to Hines, St. Paul VI Catholic High School went 31-4 and was one of the top high-school teams across the country, earning a berth to the prestigious 2023 GEICO Nationals.

Earlier in his coaching career, Adrian Autry served as an assistant coach at St. Paul VI Catholic High School. Last month, Autry replaced the retiring Jim Boeheim as the new head coach of Syracuse basketball.

Elijah Moore, after Boeheim hung up his whistle, reiterated that he remains committed to the Orange. He verbally committed to the ‘Cuse in late January, choosing Syracuse basketball over other finalists Alabama, Arkansas, Miami and Oklahoma State.

For his tremendous junior season at Cardinal Hayes, Elijah Moore was named to the CHSAA “AA” All-League first team.

Numerous recruiting services rate him as a top-80 national prospect, a top-20 shooting guard, and a top-four player in New York state within the 2024 class.
