I wrote in a recent column that Adam Weitsman and his guests at Syracuse basketball games this season and in other recent years bring fabulous buzz to Syracuse University and the Central New York region.

And while it’s awesome, cool and fun that Adam Weitsman, a businessman and wonderful philanthropist, has had celebrities and superstar athletes sit courtside with him at the JMA Wireless Dome of late, Weitsman’s upcoming guests for the Orange’s final two home games are tremendously beautiful.

The ‘Cuse will close out the 2022-23 regular season against Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 28, and then versus Wake Forest on Saturday, March 4. Both of these Atlantic Coast Conference contests are on the Hill.

"Weitsman, in a post on social media, wrote that for these two games, “Four special kids from Make A Wish will be joining me and all the amazing SU fans to give them a night they will never forget.” Thank you, Adam. This is so touching."

At the last two Syracuse basketball home games, Adam Weitsman will have truly special guests.

Adam Weitsman also wrote in his social media post, “I’ve decided to save the MOST VIP and SPECIAL guests that I’ll ever have join me for the last two games of the season.”

I couldn’t agree more. In his post, he cited Make-A-Wish Central New York and Make-A-Wish America.

According to its Web site, Make-A-Wish Central New York covers 15 counties in the CNY region, including Onondaga County, where Syracuse is the county seat.

Founded in 1985, Make-A-Wish Central New York is a nonprofit organization “dedicated to granting life-changing wishes for critically ill children.”

I can’t wait to see Adam Weitsman with these four kids at the upcoming Syracuse basketball games. It will be a beautiful thing, I’m sure.

Weitsman recently hosted Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin at the Dome for an Orange hoops contest. Other famous guests of Adam Weitsman in the 2022-23 season, and prior terms, have included Carmelo Anthony, Tom Brady, Jimmy Fallon, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Allen Iverson, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Cole Hauser, A Boogie and Fabolous, among others.

Those athletes, actors, entertainers and musicians are wonderful, without a doubt. But Weitsman bringing young people from Make-A-Wish to sit courtside with him at the Dome is way, way more important.

Adam Weitsman had one request regarding his upcoming guests. He wrote in his post, “Let’s shower them with love and positive energy.”

Well said, Adam Weitsman. And I’m sure Syracuse basketball fans will eagerly and happily oblige.
