Syracuse basketball offers younger brother of 4-star target Marcus Adams
By Neil Adler
Syracuse basketball coaches have offered Maximo Adams, the younger brother of Orange four-star priority recruit Marcus Adams Jr.
Maximo Adams disclosed via his Instagram page on Saturday that he received a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse coaching staff. He is a 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward in the class of 2026.
Adams is a freshman at Narbonne High School in the Harbor City area of Los Angeles. To the best of my knowledge, his offer is the first one doled out by Orange coaches in the 2026 cycle.

I’m really excited that the ‘Cuse has offered Adams. I had hoped this development would occur. While recruiting services haven’t yet disclosed national rankings for the freshman class, as far as I can tell, Adams is trending as one of the best players around the country in the 2026 cycle.
Syracuse basketball has gotten into the mix for 2026 small forward Maximo Adams.
Per his social media accounts and recruiting Web sites, Adams’ early offer sheet also includes Kansas State, Xavier, Oregon, Mississippi State, Missouri-Kansas City and California Baptist.
In the upcoming AAU circuit, he will be suiting up for the Compton, Calif.-based Compton Magic in the Adidas league.
According to his bio on the MaxPreps Web site, in the 2022-23 season, Adams is averaging about 11 points per game. Earlier in February, he posted a ridiculous 43 points in one contest.
We’ll obviously continue to track Adams’ recruitment moving forward.
His older brother, Marcus Adams Jr., has been averaging nearly 30 points per game for Narbonne in the current campaign. He put Syracuse basketball in his top five on February 1 and recently took an official visit to the Hill. The Orange offered Adams in late December.
Marcus Adams Jr. continues to pick up big-time new offers seemingly by the day. In an article that I published on Friday, Adams’ AAU coach, Cory DeSanti of the Los Angeles-based and Adidas-sponsored program Elev8 Elite, said that “Syracuse is definitely in it” still for Adams.
DeSanti says that Adams is now eyeing a college decision likely in mid-April. He has the option available to be a member of either the 2023 or the 2024 class.
Naturally, it would prove fabulous to see both of the Adams brothers don an Orange uniform down the line. Congratulations to Maximo Adams on his new scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball.
