Syracuse basketball (13-10 overall, 6-6 in the ACC) is hitting the road for the next Atlantic Coast Conference matchup, as the Orange will travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, to take on the Boston College Eagles at 5 pm eastern time on the ACC Network this coming Saturday.

The Orange is coming off a tough loss at home this past Monday night to the #6 Virginia Cavaliers, 67-62, and Syracuse basketball is looking to turn things around as ‘Cuse rides a three-game losing streak.

Here are my player to watch and keys to the game for Syracuse basketball at Boston College.

Player To Watch

Freshman point guard Judah Mintz is the player to watch for the Orange in this matchup with the Eagles. Mintz, who scored 20 points to go along with four rebounds and two steals against the Cavaliers last game, will need to be a driving force for the Orange.

Mintz’s ability to attack the glass, knock down the tough shot, and try to help this Orange team down the stretch of games, makes him a threat for defenders to slow down. Mintz will need to have his best performance against the Eagles and has to try and get the Orange back on track before they face tougher opponents ahead.

Keys To The Game

  1. REBOUND– Syracuse needs to rebound the basketball on both ends of the court. They need to attack the glass, fight for every rebound on both ends of the court, and try to get the easy put back and score on the offensive end.
  2. Pass The Ball– Syracuse basketball needs to move the basketball, find the open man and create opportunities for one another. The Orange needs to get into a rhythm of passing the ball, move it around the key, and find an opening in the painted area to attack the glass for the easy layup.
  3. Drain The Three– The Orange was only able to hit three of its 15 shots from behind the arc last game against the Cavaliers. Syracuse basketball needs to find good looks from behind the arc, move the ball to find the open man, and drain the basketball to get three-point shots to fall.

Prediction

Syracuse basketball came up short against the #6 team in the nation and only lost by five points. The Orange needs to get off to a fast start, move the ball, play tough defense and not allow Boston College to get going. The Orange will defeat the Eagles, 75-69, and complete a regular-season sweep of Boston College.
