Syracuse Orange news: 5-star PG target on a tear, OL high on ‘Cuse, more
By Neil Adler
Syracuse Orange basketball recruiting target Boogie Fland has produced some massive numbers lately for his high-school team in New York state.
Per a recent tweet from high-school hoops analyst Alex Karamanos, the 6-foot-3 Fland posted 28 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a game that his squad won on Friday night. Over the past few games, according to Karamanos, Fland is averaging nearly 30 points per encounter, which is extremely impressive.
Fland is a five-star point guard in the 2024 class. Several recruiting services rate him as the No. 1 point guard across the country in the junior cycle, and he’s also a top-10 national prospect.
A standout for Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y., Fland suits up for the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike’s EYBL league on the AAU circuit.
Syracuse Orange basketball coaches offered a scholarship to Fland last month. As I first reported, he has also recently received a major NIL offer from businessman, philanthropist and top SU booster Adam Weitsman.
Throughout his recruiting process, Fland has landed around 30 offers from teams such as Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Villanova, UCLA, UConn, Oregon, Indiana, LSU, Auburn, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John’s, TCU, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Louisville, Florida and Oklahoma, among others.

Junior OL high on ‘Cuse
On January 25 of this year, Syracuse Orange football coaches offered a scholarship to 2024 three-star offensive lineman William Nolan from Illinois, he said on Twitter.
And a recent media report seems to indicate that the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Nolan has a strong interest in the ‘Cuse, although his list of offers is rapidly growing these days.
Nolan is a junior at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Ill. Per his Twitter page, Nolan also plays basketball, suiting up at the center position.
Recruiting service 247Sports says that Nolan’s offer sheet, besides Syracuse Orange football, also includes Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Indiana, Northern Illinois, Old Dominion and Western Michigan.
According to a recent story from Wes Cheng on sujuiceonline.com, Nolan’s great-grandfather played quarterback for the ‘Cuse. And other family members have attended SU, too.
"“It felt great to get the Cuse offer, especially with lots of family going to that school and my great-grandfather playing quarterback there,” Nolan said to Cheng. “I’m excited to have a great opportunity to continue the legacy in my family.”"
Nolan told Cheng that, to date, his three “favorite offers” are likely from Indiana, Eastern Michigan and Syracuse Orange football.
According to 247Sports, within the 2024 cycle, Nolan is the No. 50 offensive tackle and the No. 15 prospect in Illinois.
