Multiple top-flight prospects who hold Syracuse basketball scholarship offers are suiting up in the 2022-23 season for high schools, prep schools and independent basketball academies around the country that will contend for a national championship as well as state titles.

Several analysts, journalists and other observers have recently published their preseason national rankings for high-school hoops, and one prep-school team that is getting a lot of buzz amid the start of the upcoming campaign is the Link Academy in Branson, Mo.

This past spring, the Link Academy made it to the finals of the prestigious GEICO Nationals, where it fell to the powerhouse Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.

In the most recent off-season, 2024 five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau transferred to the Link Academy from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J.

The 6-foot-1 Cadeau, a top-10 national prospect who is also rated the No. 1 point guard in the junior class by several recruiting services, recently included the Orange when he disclosed his top-six finalists.

Five-star PG Elliot Cadeau, a Syracuse basketball priority recruit, is on a juggernaut prep team.

Cadeau is expected to be a pivotal piece of the roster for the Link Academy, which collected an impressive 34-2 overall record during the 2021-22 term.

According to experts, the Lions will once again prove a significant contender to earn an invite to the GEICO Nationals that will get held in the spring of 2023.

In recently unveiled preseason rankings from SBLive and Sports Illustrated, the Link Academy checked in at No. 3 The Lions are No. 4, according to MaxPreps.

Other highly rated groups to start the 2022-23 stanza include the Montverde Academy, the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz., and Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif.

The Montverde Academy, which has proven the premier basketball academy in recent years, has a roster that features 2024 five-star big man Derik Queen. The talented power forward/center from Baltimore received an Orange offer in October of 2021.

Vyctorius Miller, a 2024 five-star wing, is one of the stand-outs for the AZ Compass Prep School. Per several recruiting services, Miller has an offer from the ‘Cuse.

Five-star big man Yves Missi was offered by Syracuse basketball in December of last year. A serious contender to hold the No. 1 national ranking at center in the 2024 class, Missi suits up for Prolific Prep.

Cadeau and these other high-level players who have Orange offers will be front and center on the national stage in 2022-23, and their squads will be in the conversation to reach the GEICO Nationals and potentially win a national title.

Two high-school squads from New York City to monitor as well are Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y., and Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, N.Y.

Both Cardinal Hayes and Christ the King will compete for top-25 national rankings and supremacy in the Big Apple. Additionally, each team has connections to the ‘Cuse.

Elijah Moore, a 2024 four-star shooting guard, is one of the stars at Cardinal Hayes. He was offered by Syracuse basketball in April and recently took an official visit to the Hill.

Christ the King, meanwhile, has a line-up that features 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, who is the son of Orange legend and long-time NBA star Carmelo Anthony.

Kiyan Anthony recently entered the national rankings for the sophomore class, and Syracuse basketball coaches are reportedly showing interest in him.
