Talented and underrated 2024 quarterback Jacob Zamot appears to be high on Syracuse football at this point in his recruitment.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Zamot, a dual-threat quarterback who attends Millville High School in Millville, N.J., likely has a long way to go in his recruiting process.
But according to two recent media reports, Zamot says the ‘Cuse is in his top three, which is terrific to hear. Of course, as Zamot picks up additional suitors, the Orange’s competition for him will undeniably intensify.
Per reports and his Twitter page, Zamot took a visit to the ‘Cuse campus in late September, and he was in attendance at the JMA Wireless Dome when Syracuse football escaped Virginia, 22-20.
Syracuse football is a legit contender for 2024 dual-threat QB Jacob Zamot.
If you’d like to see some of Zamot’s statistics for Millville High School in his junior season, you can check that out on the MaxPreps Web site.
I reviewed his bio on several recruiting Web sites, including Rivals.com and On3. Besides the Orange, Zamot holds interest from teams such as Penn State, Rutgers, UCF, Temple, Villanova, Towson and Stony Brook.
According to an article from Wes Cheng on sujuiceonline.com, Zamot is also garnering interest from UConn and UMass.
Zamot told Cheng that Syracuse football coaches are watching his current campaign for Millville High School closely. “They love my arm and athletic abilities,” Zamot said of the Orange coaching staff.
SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister also wrote in a recent piece that Zamot has the ‘Cuse in his top three at this juncture in his recruiting process.
Orange coaches have offered scholarships to other quarterbacks in the 2024 class, although it sounds like Zamot could emerge as a priority for Syracuse football in this cycle.
The ‘Cuse is still looking for its first commitment in the junior class. The Orange, as we noted in another column not too long ago, recently offered 2024 four-star running back Jordan Marshall.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Marshall is a junior at Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati. He is a consensus top-200 national prospect in the 2024 cycle, and several recruiting Web sites rate Marshall as a top-10 running back across the country in his class.
To date, Marshall holds more than two-dozen offers. We’ll certainly continue to track the recruiting processes of Marshall and Zamot moving forward.
