Syracuse football enters crowded field for 4-star, top-10 running back
By Neil Adler
One of the best running backs across the country in the junior class has received a scholarship offer from Syracuse football.
Consensus four-star prospect Jordan Marshall from Ohio said via Twitter that he landed an offer from the Orange. According to recruiting services, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound Marshall has an offer sheet that totals more than 25, with a wide range of high-major programs pursuing him.

Marshall is an elite running back and national prospect in the 2024 class. The junior at Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati is ranked a top-10 running back in 2024 by some recruiting Web sites, and he’s also a consensus top-200 player in this cycle.
While it’s awesome to see the ‘Cuse pledge an offer to Marshall, obviously competition for him is tremendously steep.
Per recruiting services, his offer list includes Tennessee, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Kentucky, Rutgers, Duke, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Michigan State and Auburn, among others.
Syracuse football has gotten into the recruiting fray for four-star RB Jordan Marshall.
If you’d like to see some of his statistics for Archbishop Moeller during the current football campaign, you can click on Marshall’s bio on the MaxPreps Web site. According to his Twitter page, Marshall also plays baseball for his prep school in Ohio.
To date, according to the 247Sports Web site, Orange coaches have offered more than a dozen running backs in the 2024 class, and Marshall is among the highest-rated RBs in this cycle who have secured a ‘Cuse offer.
Syracuse football, at this juncture, is still looking for its first commitment in the junior class, although this recruiting cycle does have a way to go.
As far as predictions from recruiting insiders on where Marshall may end up in college, I’m seeing one projection for Ohio State in his recruitment on Rivals.com.
At the time of this writing, the industry-generated On3 Consensus rated Marshall as No. 137 overall, No. 11 at running back and No. 4 in Ohio.
Another industry-generated ranking system, the 247Sports Composite, put him at No. 137 nationally, No. 9 at running back and No. 5 in Ohio.
It’s likely that Syracuse football is a huge long shot to gain a commitment from Marshall. I get that.
Then again, I credit Orange coaches for giving it a go in his recruitment, and the ‘Cuse certainly can point to the success of All-American running back Sean Tucker as a big reason why Marshall should strongly consider Syracuse football.
