There is a lot of analyst buzz toward another one of his suitors, although 2023 three-star cornerback Zion Tracy has put Syracuse football in his top four, and he plans to take an official visit to the Hill at the end of October.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Tracy, who was offered a scholarship by Orange coaches back in mid-June, said on Twitter that his top four are the ‘Cuse, Penn State, Rutgers and Buffalo.

Tracy is in his senior year of high school, competing in the 2022 campaign for the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn.

Syracuse football is in the hunt for 2023 three-star CB Zion Tracy.

According to media reports, Tracy is making an official visit to Big Ten Conference member Penn State this coming weekend. If that visit goes well, could he commit to the Nittany Lions right then and there? Perhaps.

For what it’s worth, multiple national analysts and other recruiting insiders on the 247Sports Web site, Rivals.com and the On3 Web site are predicting that Penn State will end up landing Tracy. So that’s something to monitor as far as the Orange’s chances are concerned.

Per his Twitter page, Tracy is eyeing an official visit to Syracuse football from October 28 to October 30. That is the same weekend when the Orange will host nationally ranked Notre Dame at the JMA Wireless Dome.

If Tracy, a New York native, is still uncommitted at that time, it would prove super helpful if the ‘Cuse has a strong showing against the Fighting Irish.

According to recruiting services, besides his four finalists, Tracy’s offer sheet includes UConn, UMass, Temple, Marshall and Maine.

Turning to his rankings in the 2023 cycle, 247Sports has him as the No. 100 cornerback and the No. 6 prospect coming out of New York state in this class.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated On3 Consensus rated Tracy at No. 602 nationally, No. 58 at cornerback and No. 5 in Connecticut.

While the On3 recruiting service itself doesn’t have Tracy in the 2023 national rankings, it does place him as the No. 34 cornerback and the No. 3 player in Connecticut.

We’ll of course keep a watchful eye on Tracy’s recruiting process moving forward. It seems like Penn State is the speculated favorite, but you never know how this recruiting stuff will ultimately turn out.
