Syracuse basketball appears to be making 2024 five-star prospect Elliot Cadeau a high-priority recruit for the team in this cycle, according to media reports.
In a recent interview with Pro Insight, the 6-foot-1 Cadeau was asked which schools he is hearing from the most, and he replied with the Orange, Texas Tech and Tennessee. Naturally, this is great to hear.
But as a member of the rising-junior class, Cadeau’s recruiting process likely has a long way to go. And with college coaches able to initiate direct communication with 2024 high-school players once the contact period opened up this past June 15, the competition for Cadeau is undeniably going to intensify moving forward.
Last November, the ‘Cuse coaching staff offered a scholarship to Cadeau, who is a consensus top-15 national prospect, according to the primary recruiting services. He’s also deemed by most recruiting Web sites as the No. 1 point guard in the 2024 cycle.
Syracuse basketball is prioritizing 2024 five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau.
This week, Cadeau has been suiting up at the prestigious Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C. He plays for the New York City-based New Heights Lightning in Nike’s EYBL league.
The New Heights Lightning, by the way, is a top-10 AAU squad on the EYBL circuit, and you can check out some of Cadeau’s Peach Jam statistics by clicking here.
As a sophomore, Cadeau attended Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J. However, he has elected to transfer for his junior year to one of the best prep-school groups around the country, the Link Academy in Branson, Mo.
In a recent article, MaxPreps named Cadeau as one of the top impact transfers ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Speaking of the Peach Jam, the Syracuse basketball coaching staff has been in attendance for Cadeau at this event, according to a tweet from college basketball insider Adam Zagoria.
Beyond the Orange, Cadeau’s offer sheet includes Kansas, Maryland, Seton Hall, Providence, St. John’s, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, TCU, UMass, Howard and Siena.
Per reports, collegiate heavyweights such as Kentucky, North Carolina and Auburn, among others, are showing interest in Cadeau.
Recently selected to Sweden’s U18 national team, Cadeau is planning to officially visit Texas Tech in September. The Red Raiders are also garnering some buzz on Rivals.com for Cadeau, but as I mentioned earlier, his recruitment has a way to go.
While nothing has gotten scheduled, I feel fairly confident that the ‘Cuse will end up landing an official visit from Cadeau. Stay tuned.
