Four-star defensive back Kenny Woseley II recently made an unofficial visit to the Hill, and according to a media report, following his trip to the Orange, his interest in Syracuse football is higher.
That’s a great sign, although as we noted in another recent column on the top-flight 2024 prospect, the competition is fierce for the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Woseley.
A rising junior at the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia, Woseley was offered a scholarship by the ‘Cuse coaching staff in April.
According to recruiting services and his Twitter page, Woseley holds around 20 offers, from other teams such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Florida, Georgia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UConn, Mississippi State and Temple.
Syracuse football recently welcomed four-star defensive back Kenny Woseley II to town.
Per an article from SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister, Woseley’s recent unofficial visit went well.
The talented 2024 player got to check out the ‘Cuse athletics facilities, campus and dorms where players live, as well as spend some time with the Orange coaching staff.
Regarding his impressions of the ‘Cuse and its football team following his unofficial visit, Woseley told McAllister, “My interest in Syracuse is definitely higher than before.”
In recent years, despite the Orange’s overall struggles on the field, the squad has produced a bunch of excellent defensive backs who have gone on to play in the NFL.
Hopefully, the team’s track record in the secondary will appeal to Woseley, whose recruiting process could still have a way to go.
Regardless of position, Woseley is a stellar player in the 2024 class, with multiple recruiting services rating him in the top-300 across the country as well as a top-35 cornerback in this cycle.
The industry-generated 247Sports Composite, when I penned this piece, had placed Woseley at No. 287 nationwide, No. 30 at cornerback and No. 12 in Pennsylvania.
Another industry-generated recruiting service, the On3 Consensus, has him at No. 262 overall, No. 33 at cornerback and No. 11 in Pennsylvania.
Rivals.com, additionally, puts Woseley as the No. 28 cornerback and the No. 13 player in Pennsylvania within the 2024 class.
I’m really encouraged about his unofficial visit to the Hill going well, and we’ll of course continue to track his recruitment, including whether he decides to take an official visit to Syracuse football down the road.
